Oil of Olay Eye Make-up Remover > Reviews (4)

I use a lot of products from OLAY as I feel they are a trusted brand that live up to their claims. Now I have used many eye make up removers in the past, but they have often been too harsh on my eyes and not removed much make up.

I saw this in the OLAY range and as I love their other products, I thought I would give it a try.

The Claims.

The Packaging.

The product comes in a white 100ml tube. At the top it has a blue wavy banner. The word OLAY is written in bold black letters and is underlined with a wavy gold line. On the front of the tube it states that it is fragrance and colour free and that it is for normal/dry and combination skin. You can stand the product on it's lid, so it's easy to squeeze out. The lid is also a flip lid, so there's no chance of losing it.

The Product.

On opening the tube you are not met with an overpowering smell, I know it states that it is fragrance free, but I have bought other fragrance free products in the past and believe me they smelt awful! The eye make up remover has a thick creamy texture and is white in colour.

Directions

Quote 'Apply a small amount to your finger tip and gently massage the eyelids and then the lashes while the eyes are closed. Remove using damp, not dry cotton wool.'

My Experience

Ok, my first experience with this stuff was not brilliant, when they say in the directions 'use a small amount', they mean a very small amount! On my first use, I used about a pea sized amount and ended up with the product in my eye. I must say it didn't sting that much, however it did leave me with blurred vision, stumbling my way to the sink to try and wash it out. Right...so second attempt and I used about half the amount that I used the first time and I was left amazed by the fact that all my eye make up was gone, even my waterproof mascara. It also amazed me how minimal effort it took, two swipes with the cotton wool pad and all traces of make up were gone. The product was very gentle on the eyes and they didn't feel all dried out.

I am very impressed with this product and in my case all the claims by OLAY were met.

I got mine from Tesco for £1.59 for 100ml, for a product from OLAY this is very cheap. It is very good value for money, I am still on my first tube which I bought about 8mnths ago and I am only half way through.
