    She had so many sores we didn’t know what to do. Shoo is the nickname of my six-year-old daughter Shannon. Now Shannon has been cursed over the years with eczema, which mainly affected her on her arms, wrists, neck and the back of her knees. Many are the night when I have almost cried my self, applying one or another lotion from the chemist or prescribed by our Doctor to her affected areas. The poor child was very brave but with areas that were open sore and often bleeding she cried an awful lot.     Oilatum are a company who make products for relieving itchy skin conditions. As my Baby has eczema, and has suffered dreadully with it, this product seemed like an obvious thing to try. It is designed with babies in mind, and is safe to use on damaged skin. For five pounds (or thereabouts) and a trip to your Chemist or supermarket youc an procure a 150 gram squeezey tube. The instructions on it are simple and coherrent. You can use this product as frequently as you like - I find about three times a day optimal if the skin is really irritated, and otherwise once a day just to keep things comfy ... more

    My two year old daughter has suddenly developed Eczema on the crease of her right arm. We have tried quite a few other creams but this seems to be doing the trick. It is quite thick and greasy but as long as it works I don't mind. Since I have been using this the patch has gone smaller and is not as red and sore as it had been. My daughter also finds the patch to be less itchy . I put on the cream three times a day and I would recommend it to you. If you have small children then your health visitor can also prescribe this for you so you don't have to have a trip to the Doctors. You can also ... more

    Advantages Advantages Effectively clears ecsema rashes

    Disadvantages Disadvantages More expensive than most other creams

    I have used Oilatum cream for three of my four children, they tend to get an outbreak of ecsema in the warmer months. The cream is easy to use, easily absorbed and not too thin and watery (a nightmare with a wriggling baby). It's the most effective i've bought (see if your gp will prescribe it too, then it's free!) The smell s fresh, and you can buy it in most large pharmacies etc. I notice an improvement within a day or two usually. It also doesn't sting as some perfumed creams (especially baby lotions) do.
