I know this is probably the wrong place to be putting this opinion, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it.
Last year, not long after the birth of our first daughter, we bought a "Watch me grow" portrait plan from Olan Mills. For £20, you get four sittings over the course of a year for the family, and one 10 x 8 print from each sitting. You also get a free makeover for Mum with the choice of purchasing any of the prints, or having the free 10 x 8 picture of your choice. We went along as a family and had the pictures taken, then went back a week later to choose which one we wanted as the free portrait. The pictures are lovely - really well taken. The photographer we had was experienced at taking pictures of babies and young children, so knew when he was likely to get the right sort of picture.
The only downside is that when you go to choose the picture that you want, you inevitably get the hard sell, where they try to conivnce you to buy further pictures. They aren;t cheap to buy either, so by buying the portrait plan you get a abetter deal - each free picture works out at £5 each over the course of the year - which is nothing really. The makeover pictures I had taken are also wonderful - they make me look human! You get to have your makeup and hair done. The set we chose was £100 - again not cheap, but it's not everyday you get the chance to have professional pictures taken is it?
Well worth a visit - either use the coupon in the Bounty packs, or maybe ring your nearest studio.
