Olay Regenerist Daily 3 Point Treatment Super Serum

I had read a bucket load of excellent reviews on Olay's 3 Point Serum and so I was expecting good results. I do love Olay products (or Ulay as they used to be called) but I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed lately, as their range just seems to be getting bigger and bigger and I am even losing track of what I have used, and what I haven't yet tried.

I bought their 3 Point Serum from Sainsbury's about three months ago and as there was one third off the RRP I grabbed it while I could. The 50ml pump dispenser bottle normally sells at just over £30 but I managed to get mine with ten pounds off. I like the packaging, which is a rather stylish looking red bottle with a gold top and looks like it costs more than it actually does!

Now to how it works and what it feels like... I'm not impressed. Sorry folks, but I really do think this serum is totally overrated and over-hyped. I have used it now for several weeks, following the instructions that came with it. I apply two pumps of this both morning and evening (as well as using my normal moisturiser). It is transparent and of medium consistency and has a very slight aroma, which I cannot quite put my finger on. I apply it to the entire face, neck and décolletage and blend in using small, gentle, circular motions, as directed.

I absolutely hate the way this serum feels on my fingers as I blend it in. It feels tacky and gloopy and thick and it's not at all a pleasant sensation. I have mentioned this to friends who also use this product, and they have remarked that they don't find this is the case when they use it, so possibly it is just me being weird. It blends in well though, and after about three to four minutes my face no longer feels so tacky but I can just detect the serum still sitting on the surface of my skin, like it hasn't been absorbed properly. I have tried using less, and it's still the same. It's like wearing a permanent facemask - it feels horrible.

As far as rejuvenating and firming goes, well, I cannot honestly say I have noticed any difference at all. I use this serum in conjunction with other Regenerist products, as recommended, but I don't think I look any more youthful, line free, glowing or firmer than I did before. I really feel let down by this product and I seem to be in the minority as I have heard and read so many good reports about it.

Obviously I am going to continue to use it until the bottle entirely runs out. I am approximately two thirds of the way through now, I think, but it's hard to tell as I cannot see the contents inside. I definitely cannot recommend this serum, I feel very disappointed by it and have used cheaper serums from Superdrug which have been far more effective and a lot cheaper.
