I am always a bit hit and miss with masks and half the time I forget to use them. This sounded a bit different- basically it is a wet cloth ... ...I’m not big on having my face covered however and get slightly panicked during facials if I think the beauty therapist is going to cover either my nose or my mouth. Thus I was not entirely convinced I would like this, but thought it was worth giving the free sample a go.

I’m not big on having my face covered however and get slightly panicked during facials if I think the beauty therapist is going to cover either my nose or my mouth. Thus I was not entirely convinced I would like this, but thought it was worth giving the free sample a go.
The instructions recommend fastening you hair away from your face and applying the mask to cleansed skin. I then opened the foil sachet and removed the wet cloth mask. It is stretchy so you can get a good fit, and has holes cut for your eyes, nostrils and mouth, much to my relief! I am sure there is a technique to applying it and I am sure I don’t know what it is, but I started at my forehead and worked down, around my eyes, stretching over my nostrils (I must have a smaller than average nose as I had to pull the mask up a bit here) and round my mouth and lastly under my chin and smoothing out across my cheeks to my hairline. With a bit of fiddling I got it to fit and found I resembled an alarming combination of a burns victim and Jason, the hockey-masked horror film character. I really should have taken a photo but I don’t think I would have been brave enough to post it! The product didn’t really have a distinctive smell, just of a fresh, clean creamy lotion smell. I was surprised how wet it was though.
I then dispatched myself into the bath with a book for 15 minutes as recommended. I did feel a slight tightening sensation that you get with these types of products, but not as strongly as with salon facials. The mask came away easily, although I found it hadn’t stuck under my chin very well. My face looked wet, and (as suggested in the instructions) I smoothed over this remaining lotion across my face. It was not thick or creamy lotion just a watery one. A good half an hour later, (as I type this review) I can still feel the lotion on my skin and my face feels slightly sticky to the touch.
I have to admit that I have not seen a drastic improvement (I didn’t really expect to), I don’t think I look any younger. My skin looks good, but it wasn’t that bad before I started. Initially to the touch it felt sticky (the packet claimed you did not need to wash the residue off) and this remained the case for several hours. When I needed to apply make up later, it went on easily with no need to add further moisturiser and my skin felt smooth and moisturised for the rest of the day.
My sample was a freebie and also contains a £3 off your next Boots purchase. At a retail price of £25 for a pack of five, I personally will be keeping an eye out for any special offers before I purchase again, as I feel that £5 a go is a bit too much.
Advantages: Makes your skin feel soft and smooth. Disadvantages: The price.

...of Oil of Ulay (as Olay used to be known) and because I had a perfect skin – though a tendency to tightness if I used soap and water – I was unprepared for the awful patches of scaly dried skin which I developed after 2 days of using Oil of Ulay. I gave the lotion to my sister and carried on, ever after, using moisturisers which were creamy rather than fluid in consistency.

received my sample a few weeks ago but put of using as i find olay a bit to strong for my skin.I did use it and must say my skin was smoother but very sticky (not meant to wash of) i did have to remove excess.Sorry but not worth the money . ...
