Advantages: ... it's a fax machine Disadvantages: EVERYTHING
I warn my readers that this could be a raging review since I just threw this fax machine into the bin.
Not only it costed me more than £30 two years ago but for the little times I've needed it it hardly worked properly. This morning I was trying to send a fax and the paper kept jamming into the rolls... but let's proceed in order.
This OlivettiFax-Lab is one of those product that you always see in offer (and for a reason), a couple of years ago they costed even up to £60-£70 but I found mine with a 40% discount so, since I often needed to fax documents and stuff like that, I bought it without second thoughts
Later on I found out that I didn't need to fax documents SO often to justify purchasing a fax machine but still, it has been useful sometimes. But most of the times it was dreadful (read problems later on)

Advantages: cheap, small, light Disadvantages: high running cost, only holds one cartridge
If I were to recommend the Olivetti JP-192 to anyone it would only be because someone was pointing a gun at my head. This printer is incredibly slow, especially when printing in colour. I also found it incredibly difficult to find print cartridges for this printer and when I did find them they were extremely expensive. Although the initial cost of this printer is low the running costs are high as the cartridges are expensive and, as they run out quickly, you have to buy them on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the Olivetti JP-192 only holds one cartridge at a time so if you want to print a document using both colour and monochrome you have to switch them about which is both irritating and time consuming. If you use the colour cartridge to print black objects such as text you end up with a sort of reddish tint and it therefore becomes ...
Olivetti JP192 black/mono printer is a cheap to buy printer, that is lightweight and easy to use. I got it for just under £55 on sale.
The ink, however, is a different matter, being well over £20 a cartridge/printhead. Also on the down side is the print quality and lack of convenience. Only one printhead can be used at a time, so the colour or black that is taken out must be stored in the little container provided, and you must keep changing them as needed. Although this process does only take a minute, and is very obvious and easy to do.
The printing is slow, and the colour images produced are very poor at times.
I did not get this printer looking for superior print quality. I just wanted a cheap printer that would hopefully be cheap to run and to replace when the time came. It is mostly for text printing; essays and the like ...
