Advantages Excellent quality, manual control

Disadvantages Smartmedia memory

Bought to replace my 2Mp Olympus and not regretted it. I was attracted by the 4Mp and even more by the ability to set it manually (in the end usually use auto!). Picture quality has been excellent even when using a high compression to save storage. I find it very easy to use and prefer the extra weight. I found the much lighter 2Mp more prone to a bit of shake.
The majpr disadvantage is the use of Smartmedia storage. A real pain as the largest is a mere 128Mb. So I have several. Unlike the other reviewer I always erase my cards using the computer and have bever had a problem. Most digital cameras are quite heavy on batteries, especially when using the lcd viewfinder. I have 3 sets of rechargeables which is usually enough.

A highly recommended camera.

I'd bet that most people thathave the intention of using a digital compact in full manual mode only ever do it a couple of times befoer giving up. The full auto modes these days are good enough to deal with almost anything, and they stuff they can't do you can generally do in the PC afterwards. Sam.
