WHY I LOVE THIS CAMERA As an online writer, I can add pics to my website almost as soon as I think of them (if they are locally accessible subjects). I have made photo album web pages (using own hosted website and web design software) for the family. All I have to do is email the URL to them and hey presto! Everyone with Internet access gets a look in. They can download any of the images they wish in the usual left-click and 'Save Picture As' method. This can be useful as sending digital photos by email can still be a lengthy process if any of the parties do not have Broadband access. The photo editing software supplied is user-friendly but images can be exported to any other programs you like to use, and stored in your My Pictures folder (Windows). If you have a suitable printer, the images come out well on photo quality paper. I have never really thought about the costs involved / not involved and cannot thus comment.
WHAT I HAVE FOUND DIFFICULT I am an intuitive user of software and machines. I do read manuals (once) and then I like to get on with things. I found this manual frighteningly thick (density-wise) until I realised it contained many versions in different languages! I do think using the camera and not being frightened of it is the best way forward. This camera will take as good a photograph with ease as you are capable of taking! I say this because I recently took a cardful at my mother's birthday lunch and having the sun streaming in a window behind the poor woman's head was not a good idea. So my comment on the family web page after that was - Please Dad, some tuition still required. This digital camera is foolproof as long as a fool isn't operating it!
I have not yet got to grips with the mini movie making facility - but I noticed my 10 year old nephew was having a go at the birthday lunch so I'll ask him to show me how next time we meet up.
The size of memory card supplied has so far been large enough but I know I would need more and/or larger ones if going on a prolonged trip abroad where I did not have access to my pc for downloading.
All in all, this is my first digital camera and I can see no reason why I should be wanting another one - I love it and it quite likes me - I have just sent a photo taken with it into Ciao as my profile image (shame about the sunglasses but I can't see without them).
QUICK SOUNDBITE Do not be afraid to use this machine but make sure you only take 'unimportant' photos until you are sure about what you are doing!
Advantages: small, lightweight and takes excellent photos Disadvantages: no case included
...work AT ALL. However the Olympus D-380 changed my perspective entirely.
It look like a fairly stylish camera and it wasn't until recently that I found out that Olympus are a very popular brand name (their featured on Ferrari F1's overalls!) and I was curious to how popular they actually were. So my dad ended up buying two D-380's as we are going on holiday soon (sorry if I go on about it, I’m excited!) and we tested it out at a nearby sailing club, ... ...the marvel that is the Olympus D-380. There are also many many more things that you can do with it to record your most precious moments.
On the actual camera there are several buttons and switches to play around with and I shall explain each of them for you. First up is the lens barrier, which you open and close to turn it on and off. Then underneath this is the "Macro Lever" this allows you to get very close up shots on a certain object, for example, ...

My little brother recently got a "fortune" for his birthday, well as far as a fourteen year old is concerned it was a fortune! Anyway, he decided he NEEDED a digital camera! Dixon's had a special offer on the D380, the price was reduced but i would say it would still be worth paying the full rrp for it. The camera is fantastic and even a dumb blonde like me can use it! It can store varying amounts of photos depending on what size memory card you ... ...special deal on larger ones if you buy at the same time as the camera) and what quality of photos you take. There is also a video facility which allows you to take a short video of about thirty seconds, again depending on which quality you are using. Whilst it is really easy to transfer the photos onto your pc and edit them on screen, you can also edit them on the screen on the back of the camera (forgot to mention that bit! there is a small screen ...

I got this camera for xmas from my mum and dad. I am very very pleased with the results. With 2.0 megapixels, the quality of each photo is excellent. With the little viewing panel on the back, it is possible to take a picture looking at the panel, or using the normal eyepiece. Advantages: Easy to use. Economical on batteries. Disadvantages: Only 2 megapixels.
Firstly I should admit that I am not a highly technical person, so this review will be limited to my personal impressions of the camera and I will leave technical specifications to the experts. I have owned the camera for about 3 years. It was my first venture into digital photography. I use the camera mainly for taking photographs to display on my web sites, and for selling items on Ebay. The camera is very easy to use, being largely "point and ... ...intuitive to use, especially after you have tried it out a few times. One of the great advantages of a digital camera, is that you can feel free to snap away and experiment, without having to worry about wasting money on expensive processing charges. This means that you can become familiar with the controls much more quickly than might be the case with a non-digital version. In general the quality of photographs that it takes is very good. I take ...
