I've had this camera for a couple of years now. It's really good for all basic camera needs. It has all the facilities that you would expect of a digital camera - sport mode, portrait, night, short videos etc etc. I've dropped it a few times and it's never broken (touch wood!). The only thing to be aware of is the battery life, which I find varies between a few hours and a few days! It's a rechargeable battery unique to the camera so you can only charge it with the Olympus charger - fine if that's possile but if you're away travelling round the world or even for more than a few days this becomes a bit inconvenient and you may find that you would be better with a camera that takes AAs.
