In 1959- Olympus changed the face of photography by pursuing one simple idea: create a camera as easy to use and carry as a pen. Designed by renowned style guru Yoshihisa Maitani- the Olympus Pen triggered a camera boom that would last through the end of the 1970s. Today the legend comes alive again in digital form with the release of the E-P1. This first groundbreaking Olympus Micro Four Thirds model comes at a time when mirrors are no longer a necessary component for digital cameras with interchangeable lenses. Incredibly small size- retro style- and ease of use are a nod to the Pens past. However- D-SLR quality and a host of new features place the E-P1 at the leading edge as Olympus innovative technologies reimagine the future. Now everyone can have the best of both worlds: high-end design and D-SLR performance.

PEN camera. The original idea was to create a camera that was as easy to use and carry as a pen. The incredibly small size, retro style, and ease of use of the new model are a nod to the PENs past. However, D-SLR quality and a host of new features bring it right up to date. Its easy to get creative with Art Filters such as Pop Art, Grainy Film and Pin Hole. Youll also have the ability to vary the depth of field, angle of view, and autofocus during recording. You can use a 7x and 10x magnified view for precise focusing and frame and review your photos on the large 3 inch LCD screen. 12.3 megapixels will provide enough detail for you to blow up your shots to poster size. You can even record high definition video with stereo sound. The PEN also helps to ensure spotless photography with an efficient dust reduction system and a built-in Image Stabilizer. The camera comes with a 14-42mm lens and is also compatible with the Four Thirds standard of interchangeable lenses for greater flexibility.

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.
have changed to a more common storage card format, but oh no. This camera uses the same XD cards of yester year. The X-42 does have an XD ? Micro SD card adapter (i.e. an XD card with a slot for a Micro SD card) but it doesn?t come with a card. What is the point of this? I just can?t understand why Olympus cameras just don?t have a Micro SD card slot, like so most modern cameras do. It makes no sense to me.
One positive about the X-42 is the 5x optical zoom. It is actually quite good and it is much better than the 3x optical zoom my other half?s camera has.
Conclusion
The X-42 is an awful camera and Olympus should be ashamed of it. It looks and feels cheap and nasty, the screen is awful (and it has no view finder), the picture quality is terrible and it is not user friendly in any way. The technology is there to just ...

Advantages: good little phone, with everything you need Disadvantages: slow transfer, heavy, poor camera quality
Well i had the previous version of this phone (the black one, with a more simple MP3 player and no video) and i liked the look and feel of the phone. So when i upgraded i chose the ROKR E1. My first thoughts were "I'VE GOT AN IPOD ON MY PHONE", however, the songs take forever to transfer from i-tunes to the phone. But do not get my wrong the quality of the MP3 player is good, it is louder than the previous version. I do find the earphones that come with it very uncomfortable though, so i usually annoy people by playing my music out loud.
The previous version came with software to move your pictures from the phone to the computer, but the ROKR does not, and this is a huge disadvantage if you do not wish to delete pictures from your phone. The phones camera is ok but it is not the best, in some situations it can be very very poor ...
