Let's get one thing straight from the off; I'm not a technical expert and I can't tell you the ins and outs of the technical aspects of this PC in any great detail. But what I can and will tell you all about is my experience using this PC and how well it's been able to satisfy my needs so far.
Firstly, let's talk about why I chose this particular PC. Well I have to be honest, I chose the E520 mainly because I already have a perfectly good 17" flat panel Dell monitor from my old PC. What does that matter? The E520 was one of only 2 PCs I could find that allowed me to make my purchase minus a monitor. I was rather annoyed at being forced to fork out for a mouse and keyboard I didn't want or need though! But whilst that was my main reason for opting for the E520; I think I may well have made this purchase with a monitor if I had ...

Advantages: Great value, excellent looks, build your own - wide range of components! Disadvantages: Dell Bios - Basically Locks any tweaking options! Awful keyboard and mouse! No FireWire as Standard.
The excellent value Dell Dimension E520 system is built around the Intel Pentium D processors, they may be a bit old to date but even so, they offer the new Intel ViiV technology to provide you with an excellent media experience! Despite the lack of AMD processors, Dell have come out shining with the E520 - with at least 1GB of PC2-4200 DDR2 memory, you will be more than happy as you can easily run simultaneous, demanding applications at the same time. The dual core Intel Pentium D provides you with bags of processing power which will be very handy will today's demanding and power hungry games!
Test's with Nero 7 Premium gave excellent results. We captured a 120 minute movie with ease and then burnt it to DVD in less than 30 minutes including encoding in super high quality! As well as this, we tested some of the most popular games ...
I bought the Emachines E520 in February as I felt my SLOOOWWW Viglen desktop pc and my VERY temperamental (now sold) Topnote H laptop (can't remember the brand. If you can think of it from the model leave it as a comment :) ). I went on the internet and found this laptop. It is really brilliant. The only thing I could put it down for is the battery life. As I only use it at home and always have it plugged into the a/c that doesn't bother me one bit. I understand from the other reviews some have HD screen but mine doesn't. I really dont care. It's a big wide screen and thats all that matters to me. It has a 139 GB HDD (hard disk drive) which is MORE than big enough for storing lots of pictures (mostly of cars in my case, hahaha).
