Olympus

Advantages: many
Disadvantages: None

This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need. Other Features: 8.0 Megapixel CCD imager 3x optical (35 - 105mm 35mm equiv) zoom, 4x digital zoom Digital Image Stabilization and Built-in Help Guide TruePic TURBO Image Processor 2.5" color LCD and 10x playback zoom 16 shooting modes including AVI Motion ...

A poor offering from Olympus

Advantages: Takes AAA batteries and....er.....er...hmmmm.... takes AAA batteries
Disadvantages: Awful screen, not user friendly, feels cheap and nasty, made out of inferior materials etc. etc.

With the large number of cameras satisfying my criteria I thought I would have no problems in finding something suitable, it?s just a shame the Argos in Norwich is so poor and seems to have very little stock, so my choice was limited. Since my first and second choices were out, I only had the option of three other models and the one I decided upon (without doing any research whatsoever) was the Olympus X-42. I had previously owned an Olympus and I was more than happy with it. I knew the Olympus brand and knew ...

Great Performer - Olympus IS-3000

Advantages: Very Easy to Use, great for beginners or experts
Disadvantages: Not digital, fixed lens

This camera is great for beginners of experts alike, with its auto program settings its simply a matter of half pressing the button to auto-focus and then take the shot. Within minuites any beginner to photography can be taking excellent shots and if you read the exteremely helpfull instruction manual, then you can try advanced photographic techniques such as double exposures in no time at all. It has a fantastic built in flash (with the option to add an additional) which works great at partys & disco's and has an enhanced facility to remove red eye from photographs. The camera features a spot meter facility for sitiuations where you may have a very bright backlight. It also has the option to manually overide all the settings so you can set exposure, apature and focus as you desire. The lens is fixed, so you are stuck ...
