Finally, a digital camera that can not only withstand a weight of 32 kg, but is waterproof up to 10 metres and shock proof.
I first came upon this cheeky champ in London Gatwick going outward-bound on my jollies. Naturaly, I surfed Duty-Free to bag a few bargains before setting off. Ambling into Dixon's I saw an attendent chucking a camera to the hard lionel floor. Shocked, I went closer. He picked the un-harmed, compact Olympus up and turned it on. Next, he dropped the camera into a clear jug of water and slyly took a picture through the glass. All of us stood in the growing crowd were amazed by both the flash, and the great picture quality. From then on, I was hooked.
The price, I thought, was not AT ALL terrible for what this digital camera does. (about £200)
As well as being water-proof, you can see from the picture that is very smart in appearance. And, it is wonderfully small. there is a little hook if you will for tying through a lace, already in the box, very convenient for under-water snaps! The camera it-self is very sleek and smooth...with a classy graphite silver complexion.
[There is a flash...two buttons on the top for taking shots and the power. on one side a hook for the attatchment for the wrist. and on the other a socket for the USB cable and the charger on the front, there is the lens, lens-cover, the flash and some classy writing saying OLYMPUS. on the back there is screen, up,down, left & right buttons. a play button to play pictures, a select button, an erase button and a main menu button]
When the camera is turned on, the lens cover opens and hey presto- you're on. to erase pictures, press the play button, select the picture and then the erase button.
ALL IN THE MANUAL.
The camera itself comes compact with all necessary applicators in a ideal blue box. All instructions are in the manual which comes in the box.
[and this may seem pretty sad, but after getting to my hotel, it wasn't the holiday novel I was reading... I was brushing up on the olympus manual]
Personally, I think it's better to leave the camera on charge overnight...just to be sure (:
And as for the pics and vids? (yes it's true...it can take video's as well!) I've got to say...they are fab. I went snorkelling with a group and tried my photography skills with my new cam. Yes, the pics make me look like a pretty good photographer....but I know secretly it was just the camera :P
There are about 12 different settings on the main menu to make sure you get a better pic quality...it really does work.
-If you want one...just type the camera's name into GOOGLE and you'll get a list of websites....pic and choose for the best price.
THANKYOUUUU x
woops...forgot to state price etc....
the price tends to differ....as i puchased it from duty free i got it for about £200 but i think as standard, prices can vary from about £250 - £300.

Advantages: Small light indestructable Disadvantages: 3x zoom is limiting
Bought this camera a few weeks back in silver (like the picture), and I am very impressed. I bought it as it seems indestructable - waterproof to 10m, drop resistant (i think about 4ft) can survive the cold (-10oC - perfect for my ski trips!) and can withstand a 225lb man standing on it! After using it for the first time, I dropped it from about 3 feet (1 of the main reasons I bought it) and it still works. Since then I have used it in a hotel swimming ... ...very well to abuse (still no scratches on it anywhere).
The camera settings are all fixed - and within the menus you have a choice of about 25 modes - varying from the standard daylight to, in my opinion, behind glass mode. I havent seen a way to manually set the modes - but I did want a point and shoot camera. And it also has a movie mode with sound which will last for however long the space on your memory card allows it. (my previous camera limited ...

Advantages: water-proof, drop-proof, shock-proof and takes great pictures Disadvantages: lens in top left corner so wouldn't suit those with huge hands
...I bought this about 8 weeks ago from clickto.co.uk for just over £225 including delivery, and I haven't stopped smiling since it arrived
The olympus MJU 770SW is a fabulous camera in every way, it's small, light, waterproof, drop proof, and you can stand on it if you so wish as long as you are under 100 kilograms
I bought it to travel with and spent many a happy day snorkelling in hurghada recently, it takes simply stunning underwater shots and I can not recommend it highly enough
the batter life is very reasonable, shot time is quick, display bright and clear in fact the only negative point would only affect those with big hands, sometimes your finger may obscure the lens as it's in the top left corner so you need to be aware of finger placement but apart from that it's a fantastic camera and I can't see me changing mine...
