Olympus µ[MJU:] 7000

I have had this camera a few months now and have found it to be a solid buy. The display screen is excellent, its large and is very clear and looks to be tough and durable. The quality of pictures is fantastic and having taken it to Africa the camera seems to be able to withstand being dropped in sand and the like.

The automatic features of the camera are remarkable as well. It can do simple things like when taking a picture of the sunset ...
...as you take the picture. With face recognition software as well, it deals with photos of people admirably.

I must say one of the most remarkable aspects that I have found is that when using the 7x zoom to the maximum capability, even though it looks fuzzy on the screen, when you take the photo the picture comes out clear, which, I presume, must be down the 12 megapixels.

I would say that it is difficult to access the features manually as most of it is done automatically, and so it is not a camera for true photographers, but for the honest traveler it makes a fantastic camera. my only criticism being it takes a fairly odd memory card which is not recognized by many laptops with memory card slots.

However, the camera is very user-friendly and it does not have any of the frustrating controls such as having to hold the button down to take a photo. This gives the added quality of not having to explain to people how to use it when they take photos!

The camera comes with all the extra features such as video and photo editing software for your PC. The usb cable to transfer pictures to the computer is easy to use and it simply connects the camera without any of the annoying programs which can make moving the photos such a tedious process. All in all, I would recommend this camera and say that its major advantage is simply its simplicity while still maintaining the highest quality of picture.
