compact camera that's waterproof to depths up to 10 metres, shockproof against falls up to 1.5 metres and crushproof up to an unbelievable 100kg! It's even a delight to tote around with a stylish metal casing. Olympus pushes the limits of digital &ldquoextreme&rdquo photography even further with the µ 770 SW. It is especially designed for active and sporty photographers as it is just as well protected from sand as it is from splashes. Equipped with a 7 million pixel CCD sensor and an 6.4 cm &ldquosunproof&rdquo LCD screen, you can take photos even on the beach and get perfect shots every time. Test the limits of tough photography with this charming addition to the µ family - because if it's in your life, it's in your Olympus µ 770 SW.

Advantages: water-proof, drop-proof, shock-proof and takes great pictures Disadvantages: lens in top left corner so wouldn't suit those with huge hands
...since it arrived
The olympus MJU 770 SW is a fabulous camera in every way, it's small, light, waterproof, drop proof, and you can stand on it if you so wish as long as you are under 100 kilograms
I bought it to travel with and spent many a happy day snorkelling in hurghada recently, it takes simply stunning underwater shots and I can not recommend it highly enough
the batter life is very reasonable, shot time is quick, display bright and clear ... ...with big hands, sometimes your finger may obscure the lens as it's in the top left corner so you need to be aware of finger placement but apart from that it's a fantastic camera and I can't see me changing mine for years to come.
at 7.1 megapixels the image quality is always going to be good, the camera really shines in it's underwater capabilities just a quick pool session had me running for my snorkel and fins to go annoy the fish in the red sea

...He picked the un-harmed, compact Olympus up and turned it on. Next, he dropped the camera into a clear jug of water and slyly took a picture through the glass. All of us stood in the growing crowd were amazed by both the flash, and the great picture quality. From then on, I was hooked. The price, I thought, was not AT ALL terrible for what this digital camera does. (about £200)
As well as being water-proof, you can see from the picture that is very ... ...was brushing up on the olympus manual]
Personally, I think it's better to leave the camera on charge overnight...just to be sure (:
And as for the pics and vids? (yes it's true...it can take video's as well!) I've got to say...they are fab. I went snorkelling with a group and tried my photography skills with my new cam. Yes, the pics make me look like a pretty good photographer....but I know secretly it was just the camera :P

the 770sw mju Review ofOlympus µ[MJU:] 770 SWby

Advantages: Small light indestructable Disadvantages: 3x zoom is limiting
Bought this camera a few weeks back in silver (like the picture), and I am very impressed. I bought it as it seems indestructable - waterproof to 10m, drop resistant (i think about 4ft) can survive the cold (-10oC - perfect for my ski trips!) and can withstand a 225lb man standing on it! After using it for the first time, I dropped it from about 3 feet (1 of the main reasons I bought it) and it still works. Since then I have used it in a hotel swimming ... ...very well to abuse (still no scratches on it anywhere).
The camera settings are all fixed - and within the menus you have a choice of about 25 modes - varying from the standard daylight to, in my opinion, behind glass mode. I havent seen a way to manually set the modes - but I did want a point and shoot camera. And it also has a movie mode with sound which will last for however long the space on your memory card allows it. (my previous camera limited ...
