Well what can I say? This is an absolutely excellent bit of kit that you couldn't break if you tried! I work as a kayak coach and this little beauty has seen me through countless trips down the river, regularly submerged and bashed around and always coming out on top.
The camera is encased in solid metal and sits very well in your hand, it is able to withstand a crushing force of 100kg and a drop of 1.5m. It is also waterproof to 10m and freezeproof to temperatures of -10 degrees celsius so whether you are skiing or diving you don't need to worry!
The camera is stylish and comes in a range of colours; there is no viewfinder however and you are forced to use the (good sized) screen on the back to take your picture, this can occasionally pose a problem in bright sunlight but it is rarely an issue.
The picture quality is good, although at 7.1 megapixels not outstanding, and the video is also good despite the slightly tinny sound...
Take care to always wash the camera after excursions in salt water and the salt and sand can cause the lens cover to become blocked, leaving the lens unprotected.

Advantages: water-proof, drop-proof, shock-proof and takes great pictures Disadvantages: lens in top left corner so wouldn't suit those with huge hands

The olympus MJU 770 SW is a fabulous camera in every way, it's small, light, waterproof, drop proof, and you can stand on it if you so wish as long as you are under 100 kilograms
I bought it to travel with and spent many a happy day snorkelling in hurghada recently, it takes simply stunning underwater shots and I can not recommend it highly enough
the batter life is very reasonable, shot time is quick, display bright and clear ... ...with big hands, sometimes your finger may obscure the lens as it's in the top left corner so you need to be aware of finger placement but apart from that it's a fantastic camera and I can't see me changing mine for years to come.
at 7.1 megapixels the image quality is always going to be good, the camera really shines in it's underwater capabilities just a quick pool session had me running for my snorkel and fins to go annoy the fish in the red sea

...He picked the un-harmed, compact Olympus up and turned it on. Next, he dropped the camera into a clear jug of water and slyly took a picture through the glass. All of us stood in the growing crowd were amazed by both the flash, and the great picture quality. From then on, I was hooked. The price, I thought, was not AT ALL terrible for what this digital camera does. (about £200)
As well as being water-proof, you can see from the picture that is very ... ...was brushing up on the olympus manual]
Personally, I think it's better to leave the camera on charge overnight...just to be sure (:
And as for the pics and vids? (yes it's true...it can take video's as well!) I've got to say...they are fab. I went snorkelling with a group and tried my photography skills with my new cam. Yes, the pics make me look like a pretty good photographer....but I know secretly it was just the camera :P

Advantages: Small light indestructable Disadvantages: 3x zoom is limiting
Bought this camera a few weeks back in silver (like the picture), and I am very impressed. I bought it as it seems indestructable - waterproof to 10m, drop resistant (i think about 4ft) can survive the cold (-10oC - perfect for my ski trips!) and can withstand a 225lb man standing on it! After using it for the first time, I dropped it from about 3 feet (1 of the main reasons I bought it) and it still works. Since then I have used it in a hotel swimming ... ...very well to abuse (still no scratches on it anywhere).
The camera settings are all fixed - and within the menus you have a choice of about 25 modes - varying from the standard daylight to, in my opinion, behind glass mode. I havent seen a way to manually set the modes - but I did want a point and shoot camera. And it also has a movie mode with sound which will last for however long the space on your memory card allows it. (my previous camera limited ...
