Having recently purchased an idtv, I rang On Digital to activate my account. When I spoke to the adviser I said I had no picture and a little red square on the screen. I was advised that I had a low signal strength and was informed that I should purchase a set top aerial and point it towards my nearest transmitter. After 8 or 9 set top aerials and signal boosters I phoned On Digital again. This time I was informed that a set top aerial was of no use whatsoever. The customer service bod told me that I needed an aerial upgrade. This was being arranged until I informed them that I had a shared aerial. I was them advised that I would have to look through the local Yellow pages and find a contractor myself if I wished to take advantage of my year's free subscription. To add to the grief I was also informed that half of the chaneels on my list had never been heard of and would I mind giving them a list so that they could figure out what they were. I now have to wait until I can afford to upgrade the aerial out of my own pocket before I can enjoy the benefits of my nice new idtv.
Advantages: No dish required. ONdigital offer the "best of" selection of channels, easy to use. Disadvantages: About 40 channels are offered, not the hundreds that Sky offer-
...didn't want a satellite dish on the house, so ONdigital seemed to be the natural choice.
After signing up with a local retailer I took my box home, and within 30 minutes I was digital! The instructions are fool proof, in other words, I could do it myself! And you save the £40-£100 installation charge that Sky make.

Advantages: On Sport 1 and 2 and the games section's Disadvantages: All Of The Above
On digital must be the worst digital providers ever. Everyone i know that has on digital has had to have there aerial upgrade which is a criminal £40 and still had lot's of problem's after that. I have had them for almost a year now and when the contract run's out i shall be getting cable and wireless who don't cheat you out of money.
The actual channel's you get are generally poor with channel's like Shop!, Carlton Food Network, UK Living and there ... ...do have some good thing's on it on games 1 and 2 are highly enjoyable but take to long to load up it also has on sport 1 and 2 which show champ's league games on when ITV don't do them and the box was free. As for the price you pay a month (£14) is really quite a lot seen as how you don't get any real channel's.
I warn all you people out there who are considering getting digital please get Sky, NTL or Cable and Wireless !!!! ...

I bought the on digital pre-paid package through qxl.com about 10 months ago when they sold the off cheap - up until the england pay per view match I was very satisfied with it apart from the annoying "squares" when the signal dips occasiaonly , the england programme was a complete farce with us missing the 1st half an hour and spending god knows how much time in a queue before their telephone system cut me off . Since then , I have called them several ...

...little squares with no sound on the tv. I contacted on digital and was told i may need an ariel upgrade fo £40. I said that i was not paying for it as it was absolutely stupid - not the price of the installation of an upgrade but the fact that I Live within five miles of the transmitter! If digital signals cannot go 5 miles from the place of broadcast i really cant see the point in leaving analogue! Anyone that is thinking of getting digital i would ...

Advantages: good channels good price Disadvantages: not as good as sky digital
...i have covered the basic On digital package but one more thing about the channels ON digital has a very good pay per view movie range called ON request it has up to date films on every month and its cheap too at only £2.99 a film!
The other big bonus with ON is that it can be as cheap as you want it to be its not like sky were you have to take certain channels as part of a package you dhoose channels individually!
overall ON is a very good digital ... ...depending on what channels you want.I would recommend ON to anyone who wants more channels than normal but doesnt want the complications of sky,at the moment im paying nothing at all and i have quite a few channels because ON is free for a year!So hurry up and buy it! ...

Advantages: Good programs Disadvantages: Installation process can be traumatic
profiting from the technical support calls.
Also do not forget the privacy implications of having your Digibox connected to Sky via the modem for one year. They have not been at all open about the information that they are collecting. They are probably making large amounts of money by selling information about what programs we watch to ad companies who want to run targeted advertising campaigns. This would be okay, if they were up front about what they were doing rather than doing it behind our backs.
The Digibox is ostensibly free, but in fact you are paying for it through lack of privacy and pathetic customer support, and the possibility of damage to your house by Sky?s substandard installers. I chose to go ahead with it anyway, you might do the same. But as soon as a better option for programming comes along, I am going to be very keen ...
What a great advert starring Harry Hill in this Digital Cellphone advert for One 2 One.
The music is great and very catchy and I now look forward to see it. It explains a complete package that can be obtained from Digital Cellphones and asks and answers questions in a fun way. If I were looking for a phone this ad would have gotten my attention and probably the sale. They advertise an Erikson phone which is very compact and can be ordered via phone and the web. Comes with a range of free goodies like a hands free kit, which is a must for car drivers! I think this ad has to be my favourite at the moment and Harry is so good in it. Suits the part. But there is a fox in the ad and I cannot make out if he is a mascot for the phone company or one 2 one and what the point of him being in the ad is...apart from that..great AD! ...
Advantages: Good tv, loads of channels and a 2 day tv guide. Disadvantages: No ITV.
Sky have produced an excellent service and really led the way in digital broadcasting. Sky digital is easy to use, thanks to the cleverly laid out on screen menus and remote control. There are a number of channel packages to choose from to suit your needs. With about 190 channels and more coming all the time, and about 90 Box office channels. There is an interactive section where you can shop, send e-mail and even play games. The only negative things about it are that you have to go online to use the shopping facility and you can?t receive ITV although, if you switch to analogue you can. If you want to be able to watch what you want when you want I would highly recommend sky (only £40). ...
