I have been a loyal customer of one 2 one for over 5 years now, originally on a contract mobile service, but have now been on pay as you go for about a year.

I have (sadly!) spent some time looking at all the different pay as you go service providers and their call charges.

When Virgin announced their pay as you go service, i thought it would easily rival one 2 one in terms of value, but how wrong i was.

One 2 One are in real terms still the cheapest pay as you go service for call charges.

Without opting for any price plans and using their 'standard plan', the first two minutes used a day cost 30p a minute, then all further calls that day are 2 p per minute.

This applies to both local and national calls.

There are a choice of top up credits to suit all pockets from £3, £10, £20, & £50.

Virgin are the closest to this price, with charges of 15p for the first 5 minutes, then 5p per minute afterwards.
However, this is still dearer than one 2 one.

Keep in mind that Virgins' mobile air provider is One 2 One, which is why you can use one 2 one sim cards in Virgin phones, and vice versa.

One 2 One also do not charge for setting up, using or retrieving messages from voicemail, this service is completely free. All the other networks charge you for this which is ludacrous. You cannot listen to voicemail messages unless you are in credit. And if your credit runs out, you cant access your voicemail to disable it to avoid that situation. One 2 One avoids all that.

With a really up to date selection of handsets to choose from, free voicemail, very cheap calls and a good selection of top up credit amounts i would thoroughly recommend one 2 one as THE service provider to choose.

Though with virgin handsets you technically use any SIM, as Virgin unlock their phones for free, if you contact customer services.
