I am big on music. I have 300+ albums and its growing fast.... i thought it was pointless having all this cool music and only playing them through my crummy stereo i got when i was 16. So, i decided to invest. Having recently come back from japan i saw this was big over there so having arrived back in the UK, i took the plunge an dbought the onkyo speakers with it.
Its incredibly handsome. Bullet proof build quality and a nice display make this look th part. The remote is functional but kind of bland. It is incredibly easy to set up and has numerous amounts of inputs so it will just about connect to anyhting (connected to my computer as we speak).
The sound quality is phenomenal. When my friends have parties they all borrow because it sounds amazing. Full bass and crisp treble. For such a small machine and speakers i could not beleive the amount of bass. The DAB is fantastic as well as having fm as back up. Numerous alarm features, timers and mute button on the remote show this is a well thought out product. Incredibly easy to use and intuitive.
Now, whether to buy it. In the price range (£300 with speakers) there is alot of options especially the denon and yamaha. There is not much to tell them apart in my view. The one thing in this ones favour i think is the build quality and looks. Nothing huge, but i liike the blue display.
i am incredibly happy with my choice. It is has changed the way i hear songs in my head and my expcetations about sound quality. The only problem is there is a huge gap between the stereo in house and the stereo in my car. I gonna have to work on that one/
