IF you are short on space and money but want a proper sounding system then i strongly recomend you trial one of these little gems.
I am a new student living in halls so i needed something a bit smaller than my old sony reciever i was using at home. Although i've moved my system into a different room i could instanty tell the difference between my clapped out sony reciever, this unit sounds greeeeeeeat!
Best features:
- it does everthing (DAB....the works)
- the clarity and natrility (i made that word up) of the sound at high volumes (volume 30 with Direct on is the only way to listen to it!), bass is tight and supprisingly punchy for something with only 40 watts to give (provides Drum and Bass with plenty bass, well enough to annoy the crap out my flat mates!), also has very good dynamic range (i thought my rock collection ...

Advantages: Small, good sound, packed with feaures Disadvantages: Don't expect miracles - audiophiles will still want to go with separates
This review refers to the CR-515DAB. There are quite a few variations in models, so watch out!
This is a feature-packed micro hi-fi that offers the same sound quality as budget separates. I'm no audiophile so that's about as much as I can say, except that the sound is far clearer and more distinct than any hi-fi I've ever heard (I weep when I hear my car stereo nowadays...). You'll need good speakers, though.
The CR-515 is packed with features, including a LOT of audio inputs. I like the MP3 playback in particular. I couldn't test DAB because my area doesn't get a signal.
One tip: There's a button on the front marked "Direct". It took me a few weeks to spot this (it's a paragraph in the manual). Switching it on bypasses the tone control circuitry and makes a subtle but welcome improvement in the sound, especially ...

Advantages: Improves radio quality, easy to use Disadvantages: Wires can get in the way, another thing to remember
finish school.
Like I say, easy to use. Much like a Sat Nav you can take it in and out of the car and you stick it your window like a Sat Nav. However if you do have Sat Nav, this can also be a con - if you think about it, another thing to remember in the morning and another thing stuck to your window.
Another draw back to it is that you may find the cable gets in the way, dependent on where you have it. It is supplied with a in car power supply which you plug into your ciggerrate lighter - which can also be another downside if your Sat Nav starts to lose it's battery life. You can use standard batteries, but it's not as good - the signal seems weaker and it's definately not as loud. As a drummer, I am going deaf so I need things as loud as possible!
Tuning it in is very simple, you select the DAB radio 'wave/address' (whichever ...
