...play then i would go for the 605 model. However it does not matter which one you buy as onkyo swept the board when it comes to home cinema systems in What hifi what cinema etc.

Bought this couple of months ago and decided it is now the time to write a review. Firstly WOW!! This is a serious bit of kit. Paired with a decent set of speakers it fills the room with clear sound and serious bass. Compared to more high street brand all in one dvd cinema systems this crushes them. The amount of connections on this box is amazing. I have both an xbox 360 and PS3 connected by HDMI to this and watching a bluray movie with 7.1 surround sound is incredible (die hard 4.0). It also has enough optical and coaxial ports to cope with even the most demanding setup. What i like most is the zone setup. You can connect speakers to these ports and with i admit a fair bit of wire can play music in different rooms from this box. I recently bought apple TV just so i could get my music down to this so i could send it out around the house. There is the 905 model with a built in streamer but i definately recommend a separate apple tv box plugged in via HDMI. This is a serious bit of kit and it could be seen as a tad expensive if your not that fussed about the zone play then i would go for the 605 model.
