we booked a 4 star hotel from monday till wednesday, and we were told the price was one hundred and sixty pounds for a double room for two nights, but when we arrived the manager said that the room was one hundred and eighty pounds so we were made to pay an extra twenty pounds . that put the manager in a bad mood plus we were told we could have a smokeing room. when infact there wernt any. we were going away so we could have a nice 25th anniversary ...

we booked a hotel in france through them, to then have a call from planigo to say that the hotel wasnt available, did we want another one which was 2 mins walk away...we agreed, arrived at the hotel to find it was a mile out of town. we called up to cancel and Planigo have already taken the money out of our account. they then say that they'll refund the money but take the cost of one night in the hotel as admin fees to cancel. they also accused ...

Great way to save money if you don't mind a gamble

Disadvantages: No choice on hotel with name your own price, no refunds or changes

Whilst priceline does allow you to make flight bookings and normal hotel reservations, I only use it for the "Name Your Own Price" functionality. The way it works is that you pick a city, an area in that city and a star rating. You then offer a price that you would like to pay for a hotel that matches the description. You have no idea of which hotels are available, so this kind of setup isn't for everyone! If your offer is accepted, you get the ...

If you don't want to change anything then you will need to wait 24 hours to start again, understandable as otherwise we'd all work out the best price rather quickly starting from £1 and increasing the offer. homelidays.com ~ By a first time holiday home renter.

Advantages: Friendly service and room to do a decent write up about your house.
Disadvantages: I haven't experienced any disadvantages at this time.

...those I did use was homelidays.com and I have to say that so far I am very happy with the results and fully intend to use them next year. Caution in using wotif

I booked with wotif recently to take my parents on a weekend away in Rotorua (NZ). The website was easy to use and the booking quick. However.... We had a problem with the hotel when I got there - apparently we were 'late' arriving and the hotel had resold the rooms. On contacting wotif I found that although the conditions set out for the hotel on their website were different from the hotel's actual conditions, they were not willing to do anything ...
...paid for the rooms by wotif and then they also resold the rooms. I am reasonable and understand that mistakes happen, so I offered to take a partial refund in the form of a credit note... But the customer support people at wotif were very unhelpful and refused point blank to help, citing policies and conditions I was never even told about and which aren't advertised on their website as justification....
