Reed - a poor agency
Review of reed.co.uk by Charlie494

Advantages: Find you work very quickly
Disadvantages: Consultants are rude and very unhelpful.

I too registered with my local branch and was found a temp job very quickly - in fact too quickly - the same day! I had a few appointments booked for the next few days which caused a problem. I wasn't too keen on the job i had been put forward for but Reed staff seem unable to comprehend the word, "NO" Once i started my job, i got on fine - i had no contact with the agency or my recruitment "consultant" ( I use the term very loosely!) It all went ...
...anymore, she deleted me from the system leaving me with no pay and was extremely rude on the phone - i call which i had to make as i had no contact from the branch. During the call her colleague accused me of being a liar and when i spoke to my consultant she was even worse - she felt i hadn't worked for the past 3 weeks although she had made no attempt to contact either myself or the company i am working for (I'm still here now!) I am in the process ... Read review

Come for a paddle in the shark pool!
Review of jobserve.co.uk by raymortim

Advantages: Plenty of jobs, updated very regularly
Disadvantages: Dated layout, some dubious content

Looking for a new job? As with most things these days you will find that turning to the internet can prove a useful exercise, although in this case there are certain things to be very wary of! Jobserve is one of many job search engines on the internet - though it was the original and is probably the biggest. These "job boards" can be considered the modern day equivalent of classified ads that appear in the local paper. The vast majority of jobs ...
...- media and construction for example. Simply enter your search criteria, keywords or phrases and location/s and you will be presented with, potentially, dozens of the latest vacancies posted by recruitment agencies and, though less commonly, employers themselves. To apply for a vacancy you like the look of, you can upload a stored CV (you need to register for this but it is free and also allows agencies to search the CV database for suitable job-hunters) ... quite simply, go elsewhere if you want a job
Review of fish4jobs.co.uk by kamfisa

Advantages: simple
Disadvantages: everything,

a very short review as not much to say apart from i'e never seen such an unhelpful jobsite. I tried to search for jobs in my city, and all it did was bring up a load of jobs everywhere else. It completely ignored my search preferences. Whats the use of the search preferences !!!!! It then brings up jobs that arn't what I wanted, a completely different job sector. Again, ignore what i've asked for, why not. The jobs on the site are not up to date ... Read review

Let Monster Help Me and You
Review of monster.co.uk by rosycn1979

Advantages: lots of jobs, make your CV searchable
Disadvantages: employers can search you

I may start another round of job hunting, so update my CV and upload onto some web sites. www.monster.co.uk is one of them chosen by me. I used this web site before; I got some phone calls and emails from employers talking about job opportunities. Although at the end I did get the job from them but generally I think it's a good job site, with lots of information, and now the user experience seems better than before. The main page of the web site ...
...you that you can sign up with them and manage your monster, search jobs, upload your CV and get career advice. The first thing I did is to search jobs to see any possibilities in my working area. There are almost all the sectors of jobs you can choose from the list either by one or by multiple choices. Yes, there are lots of jobs listed in my area so I started to register with them. = Create Account It's free to create a user account ... Read review

Jobcentre plus Hell!
Review of jobcentreplus.gov.uk by jamsieboi

Advantages: Information about benefits, use at your own pace at home
Disadvantages: Boring layout, most jobs need qualifications!

Well i have been using the jobcentreplus website for around 3 months now, i think the main reason is it gives me few jobs relevant to what employment i am seeking at the minute. I also use it as i dont like the jobcentres and i think the staff arent particularly helpful, so i prefer to search for jobs from home using the website at my own pace. The site has currently been updated, which i think could have been better and lot more work put into it, ...
...it. It ranges from helping you search for jobs to giving information on benefits, skillseekers programmes and jobcentre locations etc. The site is a bit boring tho, plain colours and not much too look at other than a lot of text which can be offputting to readers. I mainly use the site to find new updated jobs in the area i live in. you can search for jobs by category, keywords, or by reference number ( if you have found a job already that you are ...
