Free PC to UK landline calls Advantages: Free phone calls in UK Disadvantages: None I can find Yesterday,I came across a web site, which if it keeps up the service, has to become a fixture on everyones' favourites list. The site in question http://www.freewebcall.com/ offers free online calls to any (?) UK landline.I have tried, from Liverpool, local numbers, my sister in London, and another friend in Warrington. The secret is having NetMeeting installed then visit the web site and quickly and easily register with them and you can start ... ...codes. If you have phoned the UK from abroad, this should be quite easy for you to get to grips with. For example the prefix 44151 gets Liverpool numbers and 44207 and 44208 for London. You can also call USA and Canada. Hopefully this system will remain in operation, it's already saved me over £1 since yesterday. UnlockSearch Scam Advantages: Zero, None, Zilch Disadvantages: Can catch out unwary numpties like me! This is indeed a scam. Unfortunately I found this page only after paying for an unlock code (not) via e-mail which was just a case of 'stating the bleeding obvious'. If you have paid for this (scam) by PayPal, raise a PayPal dispute claim for the full amount stating that the product delivered was not as ordered (there is a tick box for this on the PayPal page.) This is what I did shortly after getting the response e-mail from UnlockSearch. I got ... ...has agreed to repay the full amount. Time will tell if they do so. Another reviewer has suggest that in their T&Cs, there are words about what you will get. Don't be put off by this. These 'official' words are not worth the paper they are written on. BUGGY, BUGGY and you guessed it ......BUGGY !! firstly - during a call there was a fair amount of static interference which ( to be fair) could only be heard by me - but the fact ... ...end of the phone to repeat themselves was a nusance to both parties. secondly - there is an option to divert calls to a different phone number..........which dosnt work ( well not for me ) and ive tried several numbers landlines and mobiles. thirdly - Voicemail ? i havent been able to acces this at all ?? Oh my god yes, no more hourly cut offs. Advantages: Free calls to landlines Disadvantages: Voip number in, coming soon! Ok, techinally I am writing a review on VoipBuster, but what I actually writing this reveiw on it VoipCheap. The UK alternative. They both use the same network, so you can have one username for voipbuster, and one for voipcheap... but you cannot log into them with one another's usernames and passwords. Shame really, that's the only downside I 'spose. Mainly my reason for this is I don't see why I have to fork out 2 lot's of inital credit of £5. ... ...the day for free! Bonus!! Voipcheap gives free calls to UK, Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands. Voipbuster gives free calls to Austria, denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the US. So in a nutshell, voipbuster is the way to go. Voipcheap has just added the inbound number to it's service, so I don't think voipbuster will be far behind. Completely free Advantages: see section above Disadvantages: na This site offers the chance of free pc calls from the internet to any land line in the UK and Ireland. It’s a very good service, and by signing up you can start talking. It’s unlimited and free so there’s no surprise bills or charges. All you require is a headset and you can start chatting. There are quite a few sites like this, but this is one of the best. If you are abroad you can ring free, and if you really want you can start ... ...it can be busy at times, and it does have a tendency to disconnect after every 15 minutes. The homepage is well designed, and the dial up box is so well designed it looks really good. You do need a quality sound card for better reception, but it’s a great service, which could slash your phone bill quite a lot.
