Review of Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Much lighter footprint then Vista

Advantages: Faster, good networking with other Windows machine, so far it has not crashed.
Disadvantages: price, best to do a fresh install which will involve backup & restore of information

Having read much of the hype on Windows 7 I decided to test out this new operating system by upgrading an old laptop. Looking though my cupboard of hardware I found an old IBM Thinkpad. Single Core processor with 1 GB of RAM (circa 2003). My first pleasant surprise is that just about all of the devices (mouse, speakers, WI-FI) etc worked out of the box. Windows 7 32 bit 64 bit Build 7000 / 7100

Advantages: More stable - Extended GUI - More features as standard -
Disadvantages: Drivers must be digitaly signed

Microsoft have already stated that windows 7 will not have extra support for nvidia's Sli or ATI's crossfire structures as these techniques reduce reliability, windows is ment to be the most stable OS yet. I had the computer for two years and I never had the Internet ether, and I never got the internet untill 2006.
