openSUSE 10.2 - A beginner's review

Advantages: Easy to install, plays well with Windows networks
Disadvantages: Comes with no codecs, hard to aquire

Before I start I must say that I am by no means a Linux expert, in fact I have hardly any experience with Linux. Getting openSUSE proved harder than I expected. Then I realised I'd spelt the domain name wrong so I re-configured and it still didn't work. Then knetworkmanager randomly appeared and it gave me a much easier to understand GUI in which I entered my WEP key and my domain name, etc. So I don't really know ...

Review of openSUSE 10.2

SuSE Linux personal Edition version 8.2

Advantages: One of the best mainstream Linux Distros to get
Disadvantages: Not very good if you are not familiar with the KDE and linux Operating Environments

One of the most stable Operating Systems

Advantages: stable, low price, firewall, much software
Disadvantages: not the newest Version from Suse

Suse Linux 8.2 is the Suse Version which was sold by Suse 3 years ago. Since this time I use this Suse Version. At the begin I used it on a desctop PC, then on a backup Server, on a Firewall and on a Internet Server. Time to write a review! Review of SuSE Linux Professional Edition 8.2 Complete package

Windows Killer

Advantages: Stable, Cheap and Bundled with loads of Extras. Geared for networking and the Internet.
Disadvantages: Doesn't fully support Windows Software. Only a few games.

Another nice product by Suse

Advantages: Easy to install, Reliable, good support
Disadvantages: Costly if you do not require support.
