These eye-drops, I have to say, are my summertime lifesaver. Having just used them 5 minutes ago, I am now back in front of the laptop & can once again see the screen without squinting through teary eyes....

I've had hayfever for many years now. I've tried all the tablets & the nasal sprays, but nothing can effectively control all my symptoms. I find the itchy watery eyes unbearable sometimes & so have to use eye drops in addition to the tablets. I've tried several brands of eye drops recommended by my GP, & these are by far the best. I was in fact allergic to some of the other brands, so my symptoms got worse instead of better...!

Opticrom drops are recommended for use 4 times a day, with 1 or 2 drops into each eye at a time. I find them most effective just used as & when I actually need them. Often this can be more than 4 times a day, but I haven't suffered any adverse effects (so far!) from doing this. If I can, I'll try getting away with using only 1 drop in each eye. You can soon feel the drops soothing your eyes after using them, so soon get to know whether or not you'll need the second drop. Sometimes they can cause pain in your eye, but this is very brief & well worth putting up with for the soothing effect that follows.

The active ingredient is Sodium Cromoglicate, 2%. Other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate & purified water. The drops are not to be used in conjunction with soft contact lenses. Opened bottles should be discarded after 28 days.

Since I'm on free maternity prescriptions, I've been getting the drops on prescription this year, but I usually buy them over the counter. Boots do their own version which is around £1 cheaper.

Just need to find something as effective for my nose now.....atchooo!....

My partner swears by these drops when he's in the midst of hayfever season. I'm lucky enough not to suffer :0) Lexy
