Options Mint Madness Instant Hot Chocolate Drink

Options is a belgian hot chocolate drink which is easy to make and low in calorie but still high in taste!

Options hot chocolate has been a firm favourite in our household and only recently did we discover this flavour. There are various flavours available including chocolate orange, dark chocolate, white chocolate, turkish delight and many more. This mint one is a great 'option'!

The powder comes in either a one shot sachet or a plastic tub. The plastic tub is different to that on the picture, it's now a tall and hour-glass shaped, very sophisticated looking tub! It is blue with a blue lid and has green writing on it "mint madness".

To make up a mug of chocolate you need just 3 heaped tea spoons of the powder and then use boiling water and mix well. I find that if you add a drop of milk before adding boiling water this makes it that little bit more rich.

The flavour is really nice. It's a rich, chocolatey flavour which isn't over poweringly minty, instead it's a nice hint of mint that doesn't blow you away but just gives you that little tempation. It's really very refreshing and a different taste to what I was expecting really.

Ingredients are quite lengthy and include whey powder, fat reduced cocoa, skimmed milk, sugar as well as others. It contains milk and soya but is gluten free. Per cup there are just 38 calories which is fantastic. You kind of think that something that is so low on calories and fat (just 0.4grams of saturated fat per cup) would lack flavour but this really doesn't. You would not guess that it was so low in calories.

In my opinion this is the best hot chocolate out there and the mint element is a great change. It is still rich in flavour despite being a low calorie option and it certainly satisfies any chocolate cravings that you may have. I'm very impressed.
