I do not drink tea or coffee but I do like a hot drink especially in the winter months to help warm me up so I often have a cup of hot chocolate. I recently decided to try a few of the Options hot chocolate flavours as Asda had a special offer on the individual sachets, 5 for just £1.00. Thinking that trying the flavours would be a good idea to see if I liked them before purchasing a larger jar. One of the flavours that I decided to try was the Mint Madness.
The hot chocolate came in an individual foil sachet but you can also buy this hot chocolate in larger jars. The options range of hot chocolates is lower in calories than many of the other brands with the mint madness sachet containing just 38 calories. This drew me to the options range as I recently started a new job which means that I sit down all day and am becoming conscious of eating and drinking fattening things and not burning them off.
Obviously this hot chocolate only contains 38 calories when made to the instructions of just using boiling water, if you make it with milk then it will increase the calorific content.
To make the hot chocolate you simple empty the contents of the sachet into a mug, fill with hot water and stir. Now I did find that I had to stir this hot chocolate quite a lot as I found it went a little lumpy at first but they eventually dissolved.
As soon as I opened the sachet of hot chocolate I could smell the mint flavour which I found very appealing. This smell intensified when the hot water was added with it smelling a bit like after eight mints. This made me eager to try the drink as it smelt so good. Now I will say the other hot chocolate flavours that I had tried in the options vast range disappointed a lot with the flavour. But with the mint madness I was a pleasantly surprised, the flavour could actually be tasted as well as smelt. Now I would not say that this hot chocolate was as tasty as I thought it might be as it did seem a little watery but I guess this could be improved by adding or making with milk. But overall this is the best flavour I have tried in the Options range and would probably buy again.
