"A Cute Contact Lens Case"

I have worn contact lenses for many years now and tend to just use the contact lens cases that are supplied with my lenses every six months, however I recently read some reviews about the Endangered Species Soft Contact Lens Case, I have to admit I was drawn in by the cute pictures on the front of the cases, but also it was ideal for keeping in my hand bag if I am going out for the day, I do like to take a case with me just in case, but am always a bit worried about taking the case I am using at home in case I loose it and leave myself with nothing to store my lenses in. After reading about the case this one was perfect for what I was looking for, also for every contact lens storage case that is purchased 10p is contributed to the Born Free Foundation.

The Endangered Species Contact Lens Case I chose was the Lion design. The case itself is an oval shape and brown in colour, it is just slightly bigger than the regular side by side contact lens case you get from the opticians. The lid is covered in a very cute picture of a lions head, I was quite impressed with the detail of the picture, whilst they looked good online I did wonder what the quality of them would be like when the case arrived, however I was pleased to see that the picture of a lion that I chose was clear, bright and detailed. The lid lifts up on a small hinge to reveal 2 round contact lens storage compartments inside with individual screw lids, these sit side by side inside the case and are slightly bigger than the contact lens itself giving the lens plenty of room without being crushed or damaged when the lid is screwed in place, these inner cases are clearly marked so that you know which is for the right lens and which is for the left lens. It is recommended that contact lens cases are changed on a regular basis, my optician recommends that I change mine once a month when I change my lenses, with the Endangered Species Soft Contact Lens Case this is made easy, the inner cases are replaceable. What I also like about this contact lens case is that inside the lid is a small mirror to help with taking your lenses in and out, this is very useful if you need to remove your lenses or put them in whilst travelling or away from the house, I have used this on several occasions when on holiday as I never wear lenses when swimming, however if we then do something after swimming I like to wear my lenses so having the case with the mirror is extremely useful.

The bottom of the case is flat and is guaranteed leak proof, this I wasn't too sure about when I first brought the case as I have had some cases in the past which do leak all of the solution out of them, however after I tried the case of several occasions, taking it out with me in my handbag with solution in it I was pleased to see that it did not leak at all, the solution stayed in place inside the two inner cases. The case also has a name and address label on the back of it, personally I have not used this but I guess it could come in handy for some occasions.

All of the Endangered Species Contact Lens Cases come with a picture of a wild animal on it, there are 12 designs in totally including
  • Leopard
  • Tiger
  • Cheetahs
  • Panda
  • Dolphin
  • Orcas
  • Wolf
  • Seal Otters
  • Elephants
  • Lion
  • Polar Bear
  • Rhino
As I have said I chose the lion case, however I did find it hard to choose as all of them are extremely cute. These contact lens cases would make an ideal gift for any contact lens wearer who loves animals, there is a wide range of animals to choose from so it is likely there is a design to suit most people, personally I would have been happy with any of the designs.

I brought my contact lens case online from contactlenses.co.uk, they sold all of the designs which are available and at a reasonably prices, the case cost just £5.00, although this is a little more expensive than the plain ones you can buy, this one is in my opinion of a slightly better quality and is also a bit different to the regular cases you get from the opticians, also the outer case can be used over and over, all you need to replace is the inner cases which actually hold the lenses. The inner cases are also reasonably priced at £1.25, if you replace the cases once a month as I do that's not a massive amount to pay out each time, I tend to buy a few months supply at a time so that I do not have to keep buying every month, however I do make the inner cases last a little longer as I do not use the case every day of the week.

I would definitely recommend the Endangered Species Soft Contact Lens case, it is hardwearing and tough meaning it can withstand being thrown in the bottom of a handbag and still look in perfect condition. It is the ideal case to take out and about with you as it has non leak inner cases and a small mirror in the lid of the case to help with putting lenses in and removing them. The case is reasonably priced with extremely cheap replaceable inner cases. I will certainly continue to use this case as it is so useful when I am either going on holiday or going out for the day, I know that I have something that will keep my lenses safe inside my handbag without having to worry about the cases leaking and the lenses drying out. This is the perfect case for any contact lens wearer and has the added advantage of a cute animal picture on the front.

Summary: A handy case that looks good
