The Optoma ThemeScene HD65 is a great product to have in your living room. I choise the Optoma ThemeScene HD65 becoase my friend suggested that thid was the best prjector in term of picture quailty. Watch a HD movie from a DVD is like watching through a live window panel. I mean the colours are truely orginal to real live, its like watching something with your eyes. Me and my parents spend hours at night watching movie in HD. The colours are true, bright, strong, real. This is a must buy for anyone who like watching HD movies reqularly. I am plaing to buy myself some 5.1 sourround system to go with the projector. Imagine watching movies on a big screen with sourround sound. Plaining to call the whole family in the weekend ...
Advantages: Great picture, little rainbow effect, good looking projector. Disadvantages: No internal speaker
This is a really great projector, at a very impressive price (£529 on Play) - the cheapest WXGA I've seen! Many DLP projectors suffer from the "rainbow effect" but with this Optoma there is virtually no rainbow effect at all - this is due to the 4x speed colour wheel, which is faster than you would find in many other projectors. Out of the box, the picture is great. I found the yellows were maybe slightly muted but this can be adjusted by the on-screen menus. The actual projector looks very sleek - the black and silver case looks really classy - and it comes with all the inputs you could want, expect SCART, but don't worry - a SCART adapter comes in the box. Being HD ready, it's also got an HDMI port for your HD-DVD or Blu-ray. The remote is easy to use, and the buttons light up so you can see them in a darkened room. Thankfully ...

Advantages: good price, short throw, its white! good menu, and glow in the dark remote Disadvantages: fan noise occasionally irritating.
To understand my review it is fair to tell you what my previous projector was, an Infocus X1 .
The optoma seems to be lighter in construction, i cant get away from the feeling that its less robust than the infocus ( like a tank). I suppose a good point is that its white so is less intrusive as it hangs from the ceiling. The good point is that the lens has a shorter throw distance, and so if you have small space you can achieve a respectable image size, something that my x1 failed on.The picture quality is very good, to be honest, dont watch normal tv through it, you will be dissapointed, give it a high def signal of 720 or 1080 and you,ll love it. Nice colour reproduction, the tonal qualities good, pretty good blacks, and i havnt noticed a rainbow effect.
My seating is directly below it, and the fan noise can be slightly offputting in its ...
