Optoma Home Theater Series HD200X

Optoma hd projector.

Advantages: good price, short throw,its white! good menu,and glow in the dark remote
Disadvantages: fan noise occasionally irritating.

To understand my review it is fair to tell you what my previous projector was, an Infocus X1 . The optoma seems to be lighter in construction, i cant get away from the feeling that its less robust than the infocus ( like a tank). I suppose a good point is that its white so is less intrusive as it hangs from the ceiling.The good point is that the lens has a shorter throw distance,and so if you have small space you can achieve a respectable image size, something that my x1 failed on.The picture quality is very good, to be honest, dont watch normal tv through it, you will be dissapointed, give it a high def signal of 720 or 1080 and you,ll love it. Review of Optoma Home Theater Series HD20

Excellent Projector which produces vibrant pictures!

Advantages: Picture, Portability, Inputs
Disadvantages: It can get very hot but most projectors do.

I have had this projector since August 2008 and have had no problems at all. It runs very well and produces vibrant HD pictures at 720p. It accepts a range of different multimedia inputs so it is very much suited for a home cinema, inputs include, hdmi, vga, s-video, composite video, and component video. Also looking at the bulb prices they are also fairly reasonable at around £100. This projector is very portable, and so it is recommended to buy a carry case for it, for protection and also for the ease of transportation. I have used this projector along with a hdmi upscalling dvd player but also a blu-ray player, and I have to say that the pictures produced using either of these is outstanding. I bought this projector at a time when prices were reasonable but they shortly went up although this projector is not as widely available ...

home theatre that won't break the bank

Advantages: high quality/low price
Disadvantages: none

We bought this dvd/home theatre system from indexshop.co.uk at a price of £99.99. The player itself is quite small as dvd players go but is quite heavy for it's size.It comes with speakers: front left and right,rearleft and right,centre and subwoofer, it also incorporates a dolby 5.1 decoder. Connecting the speakers is very easy, all the terminals on the rear are marked with the appropriate speaker connections and are colour coded to match the colour code on the speaker cables.The hardest thing is deciding where to place the speakers. The manual is very good, describing both verbaly and graphically how to connect everything together .It will play dvd,mp3,cd-r and jpeg(kodak picture discs).It plays dvd-r too.It does all the usual things,angle selection(if you can find a dvd with multi-angle).
