Advantages great for sore throats and infections

Disadvantages none

I first started using oraldene when I had major problems with my wisdom teeth many years ago.

What it is
------------
Oraldene is a medicated mouthwash containing Hexetidine which is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal it works by fighting infections particularly of the mouth.

It is produced by McNeil a division of Johnson and Johnson.

The original flavour is pink in colour and comes in a bottle with a little cup for tipping a specified amount into, the other flavours are blue and green. The original is the one I use and will be reviewing.

Cost
------
I usually purchase this for around about £3 to £4.

Use
-----
I tend to use Oraldene these days when I have a sore throat, the moment it starts I start using Oraldene as a gargle, it's brilliant I cannot stress enough how good it is, when my throat feels like it's going to be really bad I've used Oraldene three times a day and within a day or two the sore throat is going away - magic!

Oraldene can also be used as a mouthwash and as I said at the beginning I used it for infections when I had wisdom tooth trouble. It's great just swill it round your mouth and spit out.

Always remember to spit oraldene out no matter what way you are using it - it mustn't be swallowed.

Personally I would not recommend it being used daily as it's medicated and I read that it stains teeth. It really is great just for stoping infections.

Taste
-------
It's quite a strong taste, I don't know how to describe it, if it's kept in the mouth too long it does begin to sting but it shouldn't be there that long and if it's working it's worth it.

Overal opinion
------------------
This is an excellent mouthwash and sore throat buster! I always have some in the house so that if ever a sore throat looms it's hit on the head. We have even found this in French supermarkets on holiday the bottle is the same colour and logo we assumed it was the same thing as we weren't good at reading French and it was!
