My new phone or should I say tariff lets me 'Just Talk' or as the circumstances may be like myself, 'Just text' It's so great, I can top up whenever I need to and talk whenever I like.... or text!!!
I've waited a long while since I got my new phone to put this opinion onto here, this is my first ever personal mobile phone and I'm going to convince you all that Orange really is the best... well depending on the circumstances!
WHOSE IT FOR THEN...
1. First time phone buyers 2. Young teenagers or children 3. Anyone that only wants to use their phone for emergencies 4. Anyone that will rarely use there phone or not that often
Looing for a new phone? Are you a first time phone buyer? ~ With all the latest, modern technology around us you can ask most people for help, especially on buying a phone! This phone may not be for you but if you fit some of the listed people below maybe this is a phone for you...
Well firstly I'll let you all know that I am a young teenager and like myself many people that I know and friends my age have this great tariff. It is so easy to use, you have no monthly payments and your vouchers never invalidate and there is no date to use your credit up by, you basically top up when and as you need it. You can top up however much wenever you want. This is why I think 'Just Talk' is so good and appropriate for first time phone buyers or young teenagers or kids, there is no pressue on them to do anything. ~ Money isn't an issue.
Anyone who is looking to buy a phone as an emergency phone ONLY, I also recommend this tariff, then you can put on maybe £5 credit
and never top up ever again! Quite simply then you have a phone that works with money to spend on it, ever come across a problem, you can simply whip it out and dial away!!!
People like me that use there phone sometimes will suit this tariff very well, if you talk and text on a regular basis however you will never see a HUGE monthly bill at the end of the month, VERY nice!!! However you will find yourself, like me topping up more often than needed!! If you want to be able to be contacted at all times but generally don't want to use your phone that much money wise, this is a great tariff.
WHAT DOES THE TARIFF OFFER...
There is a new edition to the never ending 'Orange' features! Well relatively new anyway! It is called the 'No-Eak In Our Off-Peak!' service which basically means you can casually choose your own off and on peak time bands AS WELL as the fixed off peak time the tariff originally gives you! You have 3 choices which are 'morning' 'afternoon' and 'evening' I mostly suit the 'evening' timeband so have that ~ You can only choose 1 timeband though! ~ You can also change your choice every 30 days if necessary! Then on top of this you have your fixed timeband which is from 11pm to 7am.
There is also another service plan available to buy from orange, (you have to buy this seperately from the phone and SIM card.) It is called 'Orange Out Here' and is only available to 'Just Talk' customers. This pack is available to buy for £15 and includes FREE £5 credit, 5 FREE text messages a day (Never ending~ but only on the SIM card you put it on!) and you also get 60 seconds FREE when your top up voucher runs out which could be very handy! (You can buy this from Argos or the Orange shop)
There are many more Orange deals around that you can hunt down and look for ~ All sound great!
PRICE PLANS
You used to be able to buy the minimum of a £5 top-up voucher however they DID stop doing this which was pretty bad for me because I only ever had the odd fiver spare!!!
But now you can purchase £5 top-up again, but only via 1 way which I will explain soon. (Electronic-top-up.)
The price plans for 'Just Talk' £5, £10,£15 and £25 top-up vouchers are as follows:
Alternatively, like myself I top-up with a £50 voucher. This means half price calls and text messages at 5p each!!! This offer is great and suits many people down to the ground!
1. You can use a debit or a credit card to top-up, simply use your card once and then your details are registered and you can use your card again and again without buying ANY vouchers! You can do this on up to two of your cards.
2. You can also use the original route of buying top-up-vouchers from high street stores (Although most places sell top-up vouchers nowadays!) This way may be harder and takes a longer time but still a way to top-up.
3. The last option is to get an 'electronic' top-up card from Orange which is what I have done. (I mentioned this earlier for £5 top-up) You can simply go into any Orange shop and ask for this card and they will give you it and an application form FREE. They are called 'Top up swipe cards' and I think Orange were the first mobile company to use them although I know many other mobile companies use them too now!
After filling in your application form you simply ring '450' FREE from your orange mobile and follow the simple step-by-step instructions. This links your card to your phone and from then on you can go into Orange shops and places that accept 'electronic swip cards' and top up ON your card, by the time you walk out of the shop, your phone is topped up!!!

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
I was on the Orange Just Talk Plan for a while and was very pleased with it. Now I can't put my phone down and have gone onto contract, not sure it's saving me money though, reckon the only way of doing that would be to throw my mobile away!! Still happy with good old Orange though, good op, thanks, Em
