Orange is ex Wanadoo. Before they took over, the service worked fine. Since they did, the connection keeps crashing. Last weekend for example, the connexion died at 7:00 PM Friday, wasn't back till Monday 7:00 PM. Technical Support is pathetic: You call them - at 50 pence a minute (yes, you didn't read wrong) and you get a guy who can hardly speak english going thru a checklist, don't listening to what you have to say and making you do all sorts of tests that won't solve the problem - since the problem is not your gear, it's the service. The connexion was back on Monday, now it's Wednesday and it's down again! ; I must have spent five pounds more on a call to technical support, again no solution. I finally gave up, phoned them to get my MAC code to migrate to AOL and they gave me a month free and told me a technical support guy will phone me to save me money. But what's the point of getting a month free on a service that doesn't work ? I don't mind paying, I just want the connection to work !. Besides, this people have a limit of 2Gb a month, while AOL for the same price has no limit. Why would I want to stick with a limit ?. As I said: Worse provider; if you are deciding on a provider, run a mile from Orange.

I must say I had trouble free broadband with both Freeseve and Wanadoo and my problems only started when Orange took over. Their helpline is beyond frustrating, Lexy
Advantages: Easy to set up, you know what you pay for, no hidden or confusing charges, reliable Disadvantages: long term contract, 18 months in my case
