Orange Broadband must have one of the worst levels of customer service in the country. Having been a subscriber to Wanadoo for a number of years with no problems, I am now experiencing the value Orange place on their customers. On 26 February 2007, I was unable to connect to the internet on my broadband wireless connection. I called the technical support team which seems to be based somewhere by the Ganges river in India. They after numerous checks and an hour long 0870 telephone call decided it could be a line fault and BT would investigate and report within 5 days. I am still not sure which 5 days (bear in mind this problem started on 26 February 2007) because by beginning of April still no internet. At least 12 long calls to the offshore call centre (every time a different series of checks) I was no further forward- still no internet. On 12 April 2007 I called their customer support team again and made my opinion of Orange known. We will call you back within 2 hours -yer right you never have before. Well surprise surprise a call back was received to which their solution was to knock my download rate down to half a meg from 8 meg. Marvellous when you are running a business on line. Now the livebox router is playing up and we appear to be starting all over again Call backs never received etc. I have written to the Orange Head Office twice no response. Either they cannot be bothered or the Post Office cannot find Rotherham. I think the first option is correct. Additionally it appears you cannot speak to their head office as no one will give you a telephone number. I guess next step is OFCOM and WATCHDOG. ORANGE BROADBAND DON'T GO THERE!!!

I've been with Orange, like you for years. Haven't had any problems up to now. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that I haven't got to call up customer services then! Nic x

Advantages: Easy to set up, you know what you pay for, no hidden or confusing charges, reliable Disadvantages: long term contract, 18 months in my case
