The wheels on this little bus go round and round!
This is such a cute little puzzle from Orchard toys. We have a number of puzzles from Orchard toys and I've always been impressed with the quality and also the content of the puzzles as they re usually very fun and also have a cute design. This bus puzzle is no different. I think most kids like buses. THey start off singing the Wheels on the bus from an early age so to have a puzzle that features a bus picture is a really nice design.
This puzzle is a bit different from regular puzzles in that you get two puzzles for the price of one really. THe puzzle is double sides so once you have completed one side you can turn the puzzle over and see whats on the back, however, that is ruining the fun so what you actually need to do is take it apart and do the other side of the puzzle from scratch.
I'll start with what we call the boring side, its not boring really, its just the nice, normal picture of an everyday bus with people on the bus. On this side of the puzzle the bus is red, just like a normal London double decker sightseeing bus. On the bus there are lots of passengers, children looking out of the front, a mother with her baby, a person taking a photo with a camera, etc, etc. I think this is a really nice scene and it also is a great puzzle for really looking at and pointing things out. Once we have completed it I always ask my little girl to point to this or point to that so we get fun out of the puzzle even when we have finished it. Theres also numbers and letters on the bus too that you can identify. The bus is stopped at a bus stop and is picking up some more passengers
Turn the puzzle over however and you get to the fun bus on the other side. This bus is yellow, already quite a crazy colour for a bus in my opinion. Look closely and you will see that the bus is being driven by a monkey whose eating a banana and the passengers are all animals, lions, elephants, pigs etc. We like to pretend that they have escaped from the zoo and are driving away to freedom on the bus. There is even a crocodile waiting at the bus stop!!
The puzzle only has 12 pieces so its perfect for those aged 2 and above in my opinion as its fairly easy to put together but a lot of fun. The pieces are all well made and fit together well and its a fun puzzle to do in my opinion.
