Looking for something to buy a child who is aged between 3 and 6 years old? Then this game of farmyard dominoes might just do the trick. This is an Orchardtoy available at http://www.orchardtoys.com. I imagine it will be available in a good toy store too. This toy costs £6
Inside a card box with pictures of some of the dominoes are 28 dominoes. There are enough dominoes for up to 4 children to play this game. Also included is an instruction sheet.
The dominoes are made of a very thick card, they are difficult to bend. The surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth if necessary.
The domino is a flat rectangular shape.Each domino has 2 bright coloured pictures on it, a bright single coloured back ground and a simplified easy to recognize bright picture of a farm yard animal. There are pigs and hens, dogs, cows, cats, sheep ...
Over the past 2 years I have discovered the joy of OrchardToys while buying presents for my young son. So far my experience has been only on their jigsaw puzzle range but I am very keen to treat my son to some of their games on this upcoming birthday based on my experience of OrchardToys so far.
On opening each puzzle box the quality of the product is evident. Puzzle pieces are made of thick cardboard with bright colourful gloss pictures on. The artwork is simple and child friendly. The jigsaws fit together beautifully and don't fall apart even on a carpetted surface. Most of the jigsaw puzzles are shaped which adds interest for the child. Some of them also have 'extra bits' - for example, the "Rescue Vehicles" jigsaws (6 in a box) have 6 people included to match to the appropriate vehicle, and the "Construction Vehicles" include ...

I have now bought three games from OrchardToys. Two I would rate as excellent and one as good. I will review these separately.
The first review is for the game "Party, Party, Party" my absolute favourite! I have played this game many of times and it is still fun. It is definitely a girls game. The objective is to be the first to fill a handbag with accessories, e.g. lipstick, hairclips etc. Once A handbag is filled with 5 accessories and 1 party present, the player has to try and get to the dance floor in the middle of the board quicker than anyone else but he/she can be hampered by losing accessories or having them taken out of the bag if he lands on the appropriate field. In this case he will have to go back to the main circle of the board and try to re-fill the handbag.
The game altogether takes about 15 - 20 minutes which ...
