Now being on the clearance shelf should have been an indication for me to leave well alone. I wish now that I had done. But for 99p reduced from around £2.00 (I think) I decided to give it a try.
The 150ml tub provided instructions for use on its lid. It says,

After using the cream my hair was soft but not silky. There was a small reduction in frizz but it removed much of the static from my hair making it more manageable than usual. However in no way does this compensate for the dandruff effect I was left with.
I must admit That I expected so much more from ... more
If I were to name one part of my body that felt totally happy with, I’d have to say without question, my hair. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not one of the lucky few who has perfect hair at the stroke of a brush. No, no, I’ll leave that to the Claudia Schiffers and Kate Mosses of this world – Hurrumph!! No, like everything else I have to work at it, and with a great deal of effort and tender loving care I’m more than happy with my mane.
Now one of my pet hates is throwing away good money on endless hair products which don’t live up to their claim. Products with promises of healthier, shinier, stronger and more manageable hair, never seem to live up to the expectations and those products have accumulated among my vast collection of creams, gels, shampoos, conditioners and mousses in the back of my cupboard never to be used again. So because of my disappointments I now tend to stick with the same few tried and tested products which suit my type of hair more than any other, namely Pantene Pro V shampoo and it’s conditioner and the Paul Mitchell styling gel.
You see, as much as I’m comfortable and happy with the overall look of my hair, it is quite unmanageable and difficult to work with. It’s very long and although it’s curly, I prefer to wear it straight. So I need a good styling product which reduces frizz and static and protects my hair from heat sources such as the hairdryer and straightening Irons. The Paul Mitchell gel works a treat.
Typically by the time I needed to buy another bottle of this gel, money was pretty tight and I couldn’t afford to shell out around £7 on another bottle, so I had to look around for a cheaper alternative. I came across the Organics Straightening Aqua Cream with Essential Oils on the clearance shelf in my local Boots the Chemist. Now being on the clearance shelf should have been an indication for me to leave well alone. I wish now that I had done. But for 99p reduced from around £2.00 (I think) I decided to give it a try.
The 150ml tub provided instructions for use on its lid. It says,
“Run a small amount of cream through wet hair. Comb through to ends. Enjoy clean, straight hair”
Simple enough…and that’s what I did…except for the latter part. I did not enjoy straight hair, nor did I experience its cleanliness claim!
Not only did I have to use a great deal more time and effort than usual to straighten my hair, but during styling I looked down to discover a vast area of white debris covering my clothes and surrounding area. I was horrified! Either I had suddenly developed an incredibly serious and tragic flaking scalp condition overnight or this product was creating ugly dandruff looking particles en masse! After careful scrutiny of my head with no dandruff detected, it was obvious that the horrible debris was coming from the cream. And all from a product that claims to leave your hair clean! Well MY ARSE Organics. It does anything but! And to make matters worse, the product continued to flake throughout the course of the day, depositing its debris around my shoulders and back much to my own embarrassment.
Now, when I use a product for the first time I tend to use less than the recommended amount in case it leaves my hair looking greasy which some products have a tendency to do. So I didn’t use too much of this cream on my hair and therefore it definitely wasn’t overuse of the cream which caused this debris.
But what about the Essential Oils? What essential oils? Looking at the list of ingredients on the back of the tub, I’m somewhat perplexed. There is a whole list of incomprehensive chemicals and compounds with only one bearing any resemblance to aromatherapy. Commiphora Myrra. One oil! Now the tub clearly states that this cream includes essential oils. Note the “s” meaning plural…more than one.
Now the cream itself is green with a subtle glitteriness and to give you an idea of the texture, it feels more of a gel than a cream. The fragrance is quite floral, but smells decidedly plastic and synthetic. Needless to say therefore, it’s not very pleasant and unfortunately a hint of the scent can be detected on your hair hours after you’ve used it.
Ok. I know it’s always best to try and provide a balanced opinion when reviewing products, so grudgingly I will tell you of the attributes.
The packaging verges on the elegant side. A plastic green tub with a green screw on lid. The tub bears the Organics logo and the writing is colourful with different words printed in greens, red and pink.
After using the cream my hair was soft but not silky. There was a small reduction in frizz but it removed much of the static from my hair making it more manageable than usual. However in no way does this compensate for the dandruff effect I was left with.
I must admit That I expected so much more from this product, being from the Organics range and produced by Elida Faberge. But from the experience I’ve had, this product won’t be placed in the cupboard along with my other unused collection. Now that I’ve written this opinion…It’s going straight in the bin.
Advantages: shiney, soft hair Disadvantages: none so far
...light green and have the organics logo written on the front. They both have flip up lids which are grerat for less spillage in the bathroom, or prevent the loss of losing the tops if someone doesn't put the lids back on things. As I have coloured hair I always buy a shampoo which will condition and these two are a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. The 1 wash wonder is for dry and damaged hair, which I will use once a week to put back the nutrients ... ...years. I find that using a shampoo for dry and damaged hair helps to keep my hair soft but strong and this is important for dyed hair. The other bottle 2 in 1 instant shine is for all types of hair. This will be left in the bathroom for myself and the rest of the family to use. These shampoos contain 5 essential oils to replenish, soften and nourish your hair, my only grumble is that they do not state which essential oils are used in the shampoo's. ...

Advantages: lathers well Disadvantages: doesn't do what it says it will - ie volumise your hair
...arrived home from work with Organics Body Boosting Shampoo (with essential oils) I was quite impressed. He’d even managed to pick the one for fine hair, and I don’t think I’ve ever told him that’s what type of hair I have!!!
The shampoo itself comes in a light green container with a flip top, which, like most flip tops I’ve used, is very hard to open especially with wet hands. Nevertheless, after battling to open the ... ...a shampoo that’s going to give a little life to your fine and lifeless hair then I suggest that you avoid this one like the plague. Advantages: leaves your hair feeling healthy, price Disadvantages: none so far
...are you sitting comfortably? Well… Organics is a haircare range that I used to use about four years ago, but then stopped when I decided to try another product. After that I just forgot about it I guess. The end.
But wait… part two one the way….
The other day I was just about to reach for the designer John Freida conditioner at the ridiculous price of something around £4, when I saw the Organics range, which rang a bell. I remembered ... ...it. Also they have the Organics logo on the front of the bottle so you cant really miss the unique packaging when you are in the shop searching for it among the endless shelves of products. As my hair is quite curly and therefore has a tendency to look a little drier than it actually is, I always tend to buy very intensive conditioners and moisturising shampoos, or the equivalent in a 2-in-1, which, with such a busy life-style is much more convenient ...

...rinsed out properly....I alternate between Organics and another which I wont mention here since I am not sure if I am supposed to or not....well maybe I can....Pantene is the other I use....for me though Organics is the superior of the two....
It has a pleasent perfume to it...it lathers well.,...although most of the shampoos these days do....
We all have different hair types of course and what suits one wouldnt necessarily suit another....I do ... ...of course I did....
Organics for me suits my hair....its fairly mild and that is why...too many of us are bound over by 'new' products and they are not always necessarily the better option....a rule of thumb in my opinion is...that if it feels good, leaves an unmistakable shine to the hair you can bet it suits your hair type....there is nothing wrong with using one branded shampoo and another conditioner either....most people tend to use the same ...

...Anyway, to the orgasmicly brilliant organics shampoo
its fantatic! BUY IT! DEPRIVING YOURSELVES OF ORGANICS??
I took a shower only the other day, and was stupeified by the sickly sweet scent of organics nourishing shampoo, i have never in my life felt such a tremendous rush of pure unadultered nasal pleasure, afterwards to be perfectly frank, my nostrils felt sullied, dirty almost by the experience they had undergone!
Then there was my scalp, ...

Advantages: Organic gardening is to work in tune with nature Disadvantages: none at all
I love my garden. Absolutely love it. I can sit in my garden, with ceramic wind chimes making soft music behind, me, with the sun on my face, and the butterflies dancing about me, and feel the most amazing sense of contentment. It is a place I have created from the ground up: from a bare patch of wild grass I envisaged an oasis of clam and tranquillity, and four years of hard work later, it is still a canvas in the middle of completion, and somehow I feel it will always be that way - the never ending joy of growing something new, finding some bird-brought seedling, watching frogs poke their noses out from newly cut logs.
There is a season to everything and a gentle flow from one to the next in an organic garden, where every action is determined not by the books that say it should be so, but by the gardener, who learns the language ...
Advantages: It's suposidly healthier Disadvantages: it's all a con, most of it isn't even organic
I always write my reviews based on what I know. What I think and how I feel. Because this is what my opinion is. I don't do any extra research for Ciao reviews. I might go and find some relevant pictures but that's it. So I don't claim to be 100% correct in this review! It's just what I've heard, how I feel!
To refer to the comment which says organic takes up less land. All I know is that organic food either takes longer to grow, or takes up more land over all.
This could mean that more crops fail or that land has to be left empty for longer. I know that it is not as economically viable as chemical or GM farming.
Therefore my comments on the viability of organic are still correct. Despite reasoning being a bit hazy.
--------------------------
What is organic?
Most people think that organic food is grown ...
Advantages: healthier , better for you Disadvantages: takes longer to produce food
Organic food is usually on sale at a premium to other food and although the gap has closed a little this trend is set to continue.
I can understand the difference in price . It is essentially because growing food organically is a slower more labour intensive process . Not only that but yields can be lower certainly of grade "A "fruit and veg anyway.
Therefore the farmer , smallholder or indeed amateur gardener will have more costs or overheads and if you are in business these have to be passed on.
Perhaps at this point I should state I garden organically ( to the best of my knowledge) and have not used a slug pellet , pesticide or chemical fertiliser for over a decade.
The term "organic " alas is much over used and often wrongly used in today's society. And controversially I would add that quite a lot of gardeners certainly ...
