Organix Raspberry & Blueberry Rice Cakes
I bought these rice cakes for my daughter when she was about 8 months old and now at 20 months she’s still loving them!
Organix Rice cakes make a great snack and also a healthy alternative to crisps for example (although my little lady still thinks she’s getting a treat & doesn’t realize it’s good for her!)
I find these rice cakes great for snacking at home or handy to pop in her bag for a quick fix on the go. Although I either transfer them to a air tight container or use a food clip once opened as the bag is too large to eat in one go and will often last us a week or two.
Price - £1 for a bag - 50g
The packet is brightly coloured purple and green and is similar to a crisp packet in design (hence my daughter thinking she’s getting a naughty treat!) so easily opened. The brand name Organix is in largest writing with its’s ‘no junk promise’ statement underneath, which is one of the points that first attracted me to the Organix Finger Food range. It also states in this section ‘No added salt, sugar or colourings’ which is fantastic and exactly what you want from a baby/toddler snack.
Also on the front of the packaging is a picture of the main ingredients, Raspberries, Blueberries & Rice, next to a picture of a baby enjoying the tasty treat!
Below the Brand and info the packet says Finger Foods which is the range of Organix products the Rice cakes are part of, and ‘Organic Raspberry & Blueberry Rice Cakes’. Underneath it says ‘Adventurous & Self Feeding’ and states the Age for this Product which is from 7 months, Stage 2.
The front of the packaging also displays Organic logo from the Soil Association, certifying its authenticity as an Organic product.
The back of the packaging provides all the information any parent would need to ensure they were satisfied with the product and happy with giving it to their child.
Some of the writing on the back is small but still easy to read and after reading everything on the back I feel necessary info.
On the back of the packet, Organix have included a statement to the buyer that by choosing their products your giving your baby the best start in life as their products are all prepared using the best natural ingredients that are grown organically without pesticides. As a mother I personally preferred to choose products, especially when my daughter was weaning and starting finger foods, that were organic. I felt it important, as I’m sure many Mum’s do, that my child was eating natural, wholesome foods and found this promise very reassuring in helping my choose the best for my baby.
Organix products always contain two boxes of nutritional information, the first containing percentages of each ingredient in the product. This goes as follows-
Our honest ingredients-
Organic Wholegrain Rice 78% Organic Apple Juice Concentrate 14% Organic Raspberry Juice Concentrate 4% Organic Blueberry Juice Concentrate 3% Organic Vanilla Extract less than 1% Thiamin (Vitamin B1) less than 1% Junk 0% TOTAL 100%
Thiamin (Vitamin B1) is an essential nutrient for growing children.
The second larger box contains all the essential nutritional info.

Contains only naturally occurring sugars.
These rice cakes also contain wholegrain rice which contains more minerals, vitamins and fibre than processed grains. They take longer to digest which means your child will feel fuller for longer and therefore more satisfied.
Oraginx rice cakes are gluten and wheat free so great for young babies first finger foods and those following a wheat or gluten free diet.
It is also suitable for vegetarians, which doesn’t worry me for my daughter but it means I can have a sneaky pick too as I’m veggie!
Although it’s probably common sense, I found it good that Organix have a little safety note stating not to feed your child age inappropriate foods and to ensure your child is sitting and supervised when eating to reduce the risk of choking.
I find it great that all Oragnix products clearly state which feeding stage and age their products are suitable from. These rice cakes are Stage 2 from 7 months. They also have a box on the back which has 2 boxes taste and learning and then underneath has circled which skill it encourages. These for taste are simple, exploring and adventurous. For learning they are coordination, self feeding and interactive. For this product unparticular are adventurous and self feeding. This information is a little extra help for us mums to find foods that encourage and develop our babies and toddlers skills and abilities.
Each rice cake is approx 1.5 inches and round so perfect for a baby to hold which encourages self feeding. It’s puffed rice is coated with organic berry juices to give a fruity taste which all babies (and adults!) are sure to love!
It is firm enough to hold without crumbling, but gentle on a babies soft gums. This is great for when a younger baby may not have all their teeth so it still goes soft but is still great for a toddler to crunch.
It has a bright purple colour on top from the berries which makes it interesting and attractive to little ones so they are more likely to want to explore this tasty snack.
The rice cake has a fresh fruity smell without being overpowering so even the fussiest of eaters would be satisfied!
From reading this review you can probably tell both me and my daughter are fans of the product! I would highly recommend this healthy snack as it has all the main elements mums would look for in a product for their little ones.
I personally favour Organix products as you know your child is getting honest, natural foods which are tailored to each stage of your child’s development. These rice cakes, along with many other products in the Oragnix Finger Foods range really help with your babies hand to mouth coordination and fine motor skills, preparing them for the day they will finally pick up the fork or spoon themselves!
Thank you for reading my first review for a long time! Hope you find it useful.
