...Fairly decent hard-drive. Western Digital are a well trusted company, especially for computer equipment. 250GB is a massive storage device, you could store ALOT and with low power consumption makes it even better. Looking at the prices too this is a real bargin! I really recommend this hard-drive, the real-time data protection will help if your computer ever shuts off. It is also a 2.5-inch hard-drive which usually associates with laptops, however there are some desktop computers which could use this. If you did want to buy this for a desktop computer but your computer could only use 3.5-inch then you could buy an external hard-drive shell which could plug straight into your computer OR laptop through USB or Firewire. Overall I think this is a very nice hard-drive and a good bargin at the price it's avaliable for.... Read review

...Seagate have always made great hard drives and this is no excepetion it reads and writes fast. This drive is one in a new range of seagate drives that use perpendicular recording technology, meaning more space per platter. There is only one bad point to this drive and that is the noise you can here it read this may not be a problem for some but compared to the samsung hard drive I also have in my pc, the seagate makes the most noise (you cant hear the samsung). Good points for this drive include the price its pritty cheap for the price and amount of storage you get, being a seagate you get a nice long 5 year guarantee. ...I bought one of these to solve my storage problem and also to help transferring files between different computers. It has never failed me, and is usable as soon as you plug it in basically! It has however, eliminated the need to use a heater in my room in winter: while this monster hard drive can store pretty much anything you throw at it, it also produces the heat to match. If using it for long periods of time, it can also be quite noisy. I also feel that an alternative form of connectivity other than USB would be useful, but not essential. I do not really like the design of the casing either, but that isn't really important as it can just be put on a shelf out of the way! On a whole, it is a relatively cheap storage option, but it can really heat up your workstation!... Read review
