Well, there's not many Original Source products left that I haven't written an opinion now. I'm obsessed. They're just so fruitily refreshing, and the Lime shaving gel is no exception.
Lime is well known as a refreshing essential oil and is supposed to be good for the skin, so it makes sense to use this in shaving products, which are used first thing in the morning. All the Original Source products use essential oils rather than artificial fragrances, and the quality shows in use.
The products come in rather plain packaging, which you either like or not. In the case of the lime products, not surprisingly, it's lime green coloured! There's a brief history of the Original Source range on the back of the can to read while you're shaving away. The gel itself is a lovely thick green gel that produces a reasonable lather, though I find all the Original Source shaving gels have a tendency to be a bit lumpy. This doesn't detract from the shave though. The lime smell is very strong, and (unlike the mint) doesn't make your face freeze, so is a sensible choice in the winter months.
The gel provides reasonable friction free shaving, with the fragrance lasting after the shave has finished, s often I do not bother with aftershave. The gel is quite expensive, at around £2 to £2.50 for a can. However, if it's a refreshing start to the morning, you can't beat this product!
