Why did I buy this product?
I love tea tree and mint products. They smell so nice and I find them very refreshing. Also I have used Original Source shower gels before and really liked them so I was pretty sure this product would be good and had high expectations. And finally, this product was on offer and if you’ve read my previous reviews you know that I can’t resist anything on sale so I had to buy this. I had no choice, really.
Original Source
Original Source produces bath and shower products, hand wash, hair care products and men’s products using natural ingredients. They don’t test their products on animals and do not believe in being wasteful, so they use minimum packaging. They are a member of the Aromatherapy Trade Council and also work closely with the Vegan Society. Their products contain either pure and natural essential oils or natural extracts.
Packaging
The conditioner comes in a plastic bottle which is wider at the bottom and narrow at the top, a little like a cone, except the tip is flat, if that makes sense. The bottle is clear so you can see the conditioner inside which is convenient because you can see how much conditioner is left in the bottle. The bottle rests on the bottom and the conditioner is dispensed from there too so even when there is very little conditioner left, it is easy to get it out. To get the conditioner out, you just flip up the lid at the bottom and squeeze the bottle so that it dispenses the conditioner from a small hole.
The conditioner
As you squeeze the bottle, the thick light green conditioner flows out. The consistency of this conditioner is thicker than that of other conditioners I have used. This means that a little goes a long way and I don’t need too much for my hair. The conditioner smells very fresh and minty, and the scent is quite strong. After you are done rubbing this into your hair, you will start to feel a slight tingle in your scalp and in your back if your hair is touching it. The tingle has a cooling sensation which would probably work well in the summer but in the winter cold, it is not appreciated. Your hair feels quite smooth and soft though. I find that after a couple of minutes the cooling tingle becomes too much for me and I have to wash the conditioner off. Since it is thick it does take a little while to rinse out, but leaves my hair feeling very soft, moisturised and knot-free! Once my hair is dry, it continues to feel this way, and static-free too. So in summary, this conditioner leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth, frizz-free, knot-free and static-free. Plus my hair smells nice!
Price and Availability
This conditioner can be purchased in most supermarkets and pharmacies. I bought mine from Boots and it was on offer for £1 then. I found this a bargain for a 250 ml bottle. It normally retails for £2.03 but can be found on offer every now and then.
Do I recommend this?
I do recommend this as a summer time conditioner as the cooling sensation would probably feel pleasant in the warm summer months. I do currently use this every once in a while though, when I want a change from my usual conditioner. It’s not expensive and it works really well.
