The DVD comprises of similar functions to the VCR but it it's not a recordable player, you also have your chapter search, zoom which is great if you want to see a close up of the action! You can view your DVDs in letterbox format (on a conventional shape TV, black bands will appear at the top and bottom of the screen) normal format and wide screen! The Orion DVC6001 gets my vote as one of the best combi's on the market!!!!!!!!!!! When the time comes to replace your existing equipment make this product your number one choice as I have been very happy with this product and hope that you'll be too!!!
