Advantages: Quicker, easier and no aching back! Disadvantages: Takes up more room than an iron
I was in need of a new iron. Not something for which I really wanted to shop as I had been perfectly satisfied with the one I had. The problem was that the cable had become rather worn and I was beginning to feel that it was dangerous. Apart from this I was never comfortable with the ironing board and consequently the ironing became a chore to be put off as long as possible!
In fact, not ALL of the ironing was a chore - some I quite enjoyed - some got put back time and again until desperation set in and I HAD to get it done. This was usually bed-linen. Whilst I realise that a lot of people don't bother ironing bed-linen these days, I was brought up to expect smooth well ironed sheets so they HAD to be ironed!
I had often looked at presses and thought it would be nice to be able to afford one of those. However, they ...
The idea is that by swirling water around (or something more scientific but swirling is what it looks like), particles will be filtered out of the air and deposited in the water bowl leaving you with cleaner, fresher air. There is a vent on the lid of the globe from which the air (and I assume the water particles) are emitted.

£40 plus £5 postage direct from JML, available in two colours

Advantages: Shows major cities, countries and rivers. Disadvantages: None
Globe.
With Little Miss constantly asking where places are and wanting to know their position in relation to where we live, we decided it was about time she had a globe. They are used frequently in the classroom, so I figured it would be something she would have come across, and would know vaguely how to use.
We decided on this one, because it was reasonably priced and light in weight, (if it falls, it won't do any damage) and best of all, it lights up.
~~THE GLOBE~~
The globe itself looks like a globe!
It stands about 15" from its black base to the top, so won't be taking up too much room.
The on/off switch for the light is on the wire and is the type typically found on lamps.
The globe is apparently shows a political map when illuminated, but at the moment, this is of little relevance to our needs. What is ...
