I have had two syrian hamsters as pets. I have found both to be great animals to watch as they are incredibly funny,cute and clumsy. Mine rarely bit. I f you have a hamster or a mouse its unlikely they will be "friendly", yes they'll let you hold them but rats are a different matter as they are so intelligent and love human company!
