I have had two syrian hamsters as pets. I have found both to be great animals to watch as they are incredibly funny, cute and clumsy. Mine rarely bit. They only did so when they had been woken from there sleep. My hamsters loved there big cages as it kept them amused and not confined in a small space. They were great to hold as well because they are calm animals so long as they are not disturbed form there precious sleep. They tend to use there wheel ... Read review

...overcome selective feeding so the rabbit eats everything not just the flakes. Water should be changed daily and should always be available as they drink lots of it. It should be put in a bottle which can be hung on the side of the cage. Putting it in a bowl will make it contaminated. HAY SHOULD ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE AS THIS MAKES UP 70% OF THEIR DIET! it also help digestion of food and obesity will occur less. It will keep the teeth in trim aswell. ......tray daily. *indoors. If the rabbit is properly litter trained it can live freely in the house provided that his litter tray gets cleaned everyday. They are a creature of habit but if the litter tray gets full and not cleaned regularly then it will chose your brand new carpet or sofa as a toilet! indoor cages are also now available. *other* Rabbits nails should be cut down regularly and teeth should be trim. helth checks should be done atleast ... ...every day. History Guinea pigs originally come from south america and before coming domesticated were used as a source of food (yuk i know!) They come in lots of diferent colours and varieties such as short and long hairs, and make excellent first pets for children as they rarely if ever bite! Food - they need to be fed a complete food such a gerty guinea pig, usually brands today have added vitamin c which is extremely important for guinea pigs ......hay and water. Gerty guinea pig is an excellent brand to feed guinea pigs as it contains all the minerals and vitamins needed including vit c which is extremely important. It comes in a range of sizes from 2kg - 16kg. I usually by a large bag as it lasts me a long time, and also has little bags inside so you can bag up the food to stop it from becoming mouldy. It is avaiable from vets, petshops and even in some supermarkets now which is so conveniant. ... Read review

...say I have 2 pet rats range from "erghh the filthy animals?" to "don't they bite?". Nobody seems to have a positive comment except my mum and dad! thanks mum and dad xx ---The main 3 things people 'hate' about rats--- *their tails - apparently horrible looking *the fact they bite (NO they don't) *they smell (again NO, they're one of the cleanest animals in the rodent family, my two are constantly washing and preening themselves and each other) ......had cats and dogs and rats are easily as loving and friendly as these other pets. I f you have a hamster or a mouse its unlikely they will be "friendly", yes they'll let you hold them but rats are a different matter as they are so intelligent and love human company! If anyone does decide to buy a rat please buy at least two as they are such sociable animals, they need companionship unless you will be there 24/7. RAT DIET: I am now going to advise ... Read review

Barn Owls Barn owls don't really look like any other owl, they have round moon faces. They are beautiful creatures and are very pleasant to have as a pet. If you are planning on buy a owl as a pet, there are a few things that are vitally important. First make sure that the bird has a closed ring on. If it hasn't do not buy it, some birds of prey have rings that are not closed and these can not be sold on. (I was informed by the Independent Bird ......okay, then take time out to handle the bird and check its feet and opening its wings, and have a feel for lumps or anything you think isn't right. If you find something you must mention it to the breeder, 9 time out of 10 they don't know. You should received a article ten certificate to tell you that it is legal to keep your bird and that it has not been captured - this is very important you get this - the breeder may forward this onto you directly ...
