Advantages: Good product
Disadvantages: price

My grandson had a brio starter pack and we have added to it so he could go round more corners we bought him some brio 6.5 inch curved track this came in a 4 piece pack. 8 pieces of this track will make an 18 inch circle. The brio curved rail track is double sided. Grooves for the train to run on either side of the ...
...it to the next piece, Brio track joins together with what they call male and female connectors basically one end has a little piece cut out of it the other end has a little knobby piece that fits into it like a jigsaw. Disappointing
Review of Early Learning Centre Whizz Around Garage by Lin3000

Advantages: Different noises and lights, fun cars
Disadvantages: Does not represent value for money and comes apart easily

I had high hopes for this toy when I bought it for my son for his first birthday and, although he loves it, I have not been happy at all. Firstly the good points: My son loves to press the buttons and hear all the different noises such as the lift and car war wash. He likes to put things in the lift and watch it go up and down. Although he hasn't learnt to do this himself he has learnt where the car comes out at the top. He loves the cars and I ...
...are magnetic so can be pushed along in convoy which he loves. I think as a toy it has a long life as he will keep finding new ways to play with it for a few years, for instance right now he likes the cars and the noises, but in a year or so he will enjoy playing make believe with it. Now the bad points: I don't think it represents value for money, similar products from other brands seem to get more with them. This toy comes with only 3 cars. Also ... Read review

Doctor Who Shaker Maker
Review of Flair Toys Doctor Who Shaker Maker by starblaster

Advantages: Brilliant models and great fun to make
Disadvantages: Only enough plaster mix to make 2 models

We bought this for our little boy who is mad about Doctor Who. Until getting this he hadn't been as crazy about craft activities though. The shaker maker is ideal not so much mess, but the instructions still require lots of adult support and this is one of the reasons I would aim the set at the ages 7 and over. When we bought this our little boy had just turned 4. Having said that, he loved it because of the Doctor Who theme. The models look brilliant ...
...better when painted, although there is lots of detail to paint and so what if a child of 4 wants their tardis to be yellow and green. The only real downside for me was that the powder mixture was gone after making 1 tardis and 1 dalek. I think you can buy replacement refill sets, but we've never got round to it. ... Read review

Unnamed box of tat
Review of Named Box of Jigsaws by dracoiratus

Advantages: Would be great for education.
Disadvantages: Poorly made and frustrating for toddlers.

My son is currently 26 months old and in the process of learning to count and recognise the letters of the alphabet. He also loves these peg jigsaws, so I was specifically looking for ones with numbers and letters to help him learn. When I found this set of three I thought they were just the thing, especially with the box to keep them in, as the pieces can be easily lost when you have a toddler playing with them. They also seemed reasonably priced ...
...personalised. When it arrived my first disappointment was that my son's name was not on the box. However, as I've never been too bothered by the whole personalised items thing, I decided not to faff about returning it for a replacement with the name on. Unfortunately there were further disappointments waiting for me inside the packaging. First off, the storage box is very obviously of cheap manufacture. It looks like a nasty piece of 80's furniture, ... Read review
