Huggable pencils
Review of Berolhand Huggers Colouring Pencils by
mumsymary
Advantages: Easier to hold
Disadvantages: None
Back to school I am thinking about the things we use there and we have lots of Berol hand hugger colouring pencils.
Berol has developed these triangular pencils for children who are developing their colouring skills. They are easier to hold than the round colouring pencils. The triangular shapes helps children to hold them in a correct grip. Some of my disabled pupils find these easier to hold than standard pencils.
The surface of the crayon is ... ...my students sweaty palms so easily. The hand hugger colouring pencil is comfortable to hold.
These pencils do not splinter.
The leads of these pencils are strong do not break easily. There is a good range or 12 colours available giving a 6mm wide line.
To sharpen these pencils you do need a big pencil, sharpener
Berol hand hugger crayons /pencils are available from http://www.berol.com/searchDetail.asp?sectorID=0&productID=31 a pack of 12 cost ...

The art of friendship!
Review of Crayola Friendship Bracelets by
kingfisher111
Advantages: Good idea and lovely bracelets
Disadvantages: too difficult for five year olds
...birthday. It is made by Crayola who generally produce good quality art kits for small children and this seemed to be another good idea from them!
The kit contains everything that you need to make six different bracelets. In order to make these there is cotton, ribbons, assorted colours of plastic beads and some pink foam flowers. In fact when you open up the box it really does look like an Aladdin's Cave and my daughter's eyes really lit up when ... ...try first, so I think Crayola missed a trick here. As it was I just asked my daughter which one she liked the sound of and unsurprisingly she opted for the foam flower bracelet - well the foam flowers were pink!
I wished that the materials needed were listed at the top of the instructions but they were not but we soon sorted out the ribbon and flowers needed. We then had a go at making the bracelet and believe me it was very fiddly. The pink flowers ...

TZZZZANG!!!!
Review of Oidz by
saq3m
Advantages: Fun to play with for kids and adults
Disadvantages: Can easily break...
TZZZZANG!!!!
Oidz are a relatively new toy on the market now. And I think they are fab!!!
They are just two highly magnetic pellet-things, that when thrown in the air make the best noise.
I dont know whether it's a gadget, or a toy, but It's definately fun!!
However, you may get bored of tossing them up in the air again and again, and you might have to find more outrageous ways to toss them, and that's where the problem, starts.
Oidz need special ...

Bertie is squirting in the bath
Review of Bertie the Bus Water Squirter by
mumsymary
Advantages: fun
Disadvantages: wet
Bertie as your young child will know is a bus, a red bus with a friendly face. Bertie is a character from The Railway Series a set of story books for children about a fictional railway which were written by Rev. W. Awdry. The red Bertie bus toy that I am going to talk about is a bath squirter a soft rubbery toy that fills with water and then your devilish child will squirt at you. This toy is made by Tomy.
Bertie bus looks identical to the drawings ... ...written in 1949, Bertie does appear in other books too helping his train friends. Bertie is about 14cm long. When Bertie is submerged in water squeeze him to get all the air out Bertie will fill up with water. This water squirter does give a reasonable squirt of water, but I have used others which are better for squirting water.
This toy is recommended for children 18 months and over, but mum and dad will have fun squirting Bertie at baby long before ...
