Is gaming expensive? Really, has the price of gaming gone up so much within the last few years that fewer and fewer of people who want to be playing games can actually afford to? Not really, at least I don't think it has. Obviously there are many forms of playing 'video-games', from your home ... Read review

Advantages: Wow, you expect a list of advantages? Lol! Disadvantages: See above, add 'dis' where appropriate!
...the amount that own Nintendo's other machine - the Game Boy. If you're a Nintendo 64 owner, then you might be a bit disheartened at the lack of shelf space the N64 now gets, but seeing as only 1 game a month on average is being released for the 'slowly fading away' console, there isn't much point in game stores doing this.
How much then? Well the N64 is on its last legs really, but if you haven't played on one then that's a great reason for getting ... ...Dreamcast modem! There are no other Internet ready games consoles available at the moment, so this is the best in that respect.
The games? Well the RRP is usually £39.99 on DC games, but you can get them cheaper everywhere including online stores and offline. The games are really cheap though, as they seem to half in price just a couple of months after release! The best prices I have seen are at comet the electrical store, where you can pick up ...

Advantages: games for a fiver, lets you realise how we are being ripped off for new games Disadvantages: illegal, hurts the video games business, your shelf looks better with the real games not copies
...games cheaper, this goes for other developers too.
People that copy games use this excuse on why piracy is good:
"Console sales for the Dreamcast and PSX rocketed when hackers worked out the way to copy games to sell them for a fiver, surely the amount of consoles being sold makes up for the loss of games sales."
This statement is totally wrong. A lot of console developers like Sega actually lose money on each console sold to keep the price of ... ...sales and their cut of other developers selling games. Also if the consoles where sold and hardly any games all the 3rd party developers would stop producing games.
Piracy hurts the whole developing games world and can lead to crap games, rubbish consoles and a lack of choice. Sega (now ceased to make consoles), Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony are all trying to make new technology to stop chipping and piracy techniques, they aremaking progress but hackers ...

Advantages: Very educational, very good for retro gaming Disadvantages: Black and white, not a patch on todays consoles
Sinclair brought out the ZX81, the first "personal home computer", in the early 1980's, and changed the world forever.
Now we all had access to programming and gaming at a relatively low price (a PC then would have cost about the same as a small car.) This was the console that started the gaming revolution, and games are still around, or you can easily program a few yourself using the ZX81 itself, something you can't really do easily with today's ... ...to let you program for the Playstation, but you need a PC too.
You can pick up a second hand ZX81 for around 40 quid in the year 2000, not a bad thing if you want to teach your children how computers REALLY work, as the comprehensive manual that comes with it teaches you the real nuts and bolts of how computers talk. For pure historical value and education, it's worth having a mint condition one stored in the loft too, they may be worth a fair old ...

Advantages: All consoles are good value and are capable of running superb quality games Disadvantages: The net facilties on the dreamcast were very poor i hope they have improved on these consoles
No sooner have you bought a PC than it is out of date. This is untrue in consoles. A good console is top of the range for up to 2 years and is not out of date for many many more. The three top companies were nintendo, sony and sega. Sega would always be the first to release the new age consoles these would quickly be out done by nintendo and then sony. No wthe new age consoles are cominbg thick and fast but which to choose.
sony's playstation 2 has ... ...powerful console in the world. its abilty to play all playstation 1 games and uese all playstaion 1 controllers makes it a quite cheap console. as all the periphiles are cheap and affordable. the range of games grows weekly sony reputation has all the main companies developing new gear and games for this powerhouse of a machine. The playstation contains a highly rated DVD player.
Nintendos game cube has also been getting alot of press coverage it ...

Advantages: NON Disadvantages: old, rubbish, stands no chances against PS2
The TV boy was launched in 1995 to boost profit costs. It was a simple idea. A handset which plugged into your arial socket at the back of your TV.
The TV boy was sold in 1995-1997 for £29.99 and was the thing to have. Most of you may never have heard of it but it provided hours of gaming fun to all.
In the handset was a small motherboard containing 248 games. In MSDOS format like Teletext, it was simple and colourless. The games consisted of Car ... ...had games like bat etc.
The quality of the games was quite poor considering you had paid good money for a tacki little handset and wire and what was worse was that it guzzled up Electricity like god knows what, thus costing you more.
In 1997 a new TV Boy was launched costing £39. This was now rivalling with the play station, although we know it never stood a chance. It was the sort of budget game console. Again this had slightly updated games but ...
