I was recommend this product by a family member when we moved into a very hard water area. I was forever trying to clean the inside of my kettle but without any real luck.
I finally found this product in our local Wilkinsons store and was very suprised when it was only £1.79 for the packet. Not really taking much notice of the packet until I got home i was further suprised when I found it contained 3 sachets.
The packet which I now have states that it now removes 20% more limescale which seems good to me.
The packet is blue in colour with a picture of a kettle, iron and coffree maker on the front and the product name. The reverse of the packet is white with all of the directions for using it and the contents.
DIRECTIONS:-
KETTLE Firstly fill the kettle with water about half full and boil. Unplug the kettle and place it into an empty sink. Slowly add the contents of one sachet and leave for 10 minutes. Look inside to see if ther is any remaining limescale. If so reheat the solution until it stats to fizz again but do not boil. Pour the solution away and fill a full kettle and boil then empty this water and rinse the kettle throughly before use.
COFFEE MAKERS Half fill the water reservoir with water and add the contents of one sachet. Switch the machine on and allow approximately half of the solution to filter through then switch off. After 10 minutes switch the machine on to filter the remaineder of the solution and then empty this down the sink. Run the machine through twice and then it is ready for use.
STEAM IRONS Heat the iron until it is hand hot adn then unplug it. Empty the contents of the sachet into a jucg adn then pour into the water chamber. Top the chamber up with tap water adn set the iron into the steam position. Place the iron in an empty plastic bowl with the plate face down and shake gently until the solution starts to drain through the hioles. Leave for 10 minutes or until the chamber is empty, if there is a spray button press a few times to pump the solution through. Rince the iron throughly with cold water and fill the chamber, then allow to drain again. It is recommended that you iron an old piece of material firstly after this process has been done to ensure that all the solution has gone. Some manufacturers of irons do not recommend this process so make sure you check your irons user handbook before doing this!
SHOWER HEADS Detatch the shower head from the lead adn place it sprinkler down into a jug, or if the shower head is fixed unscrew the sprinkler part. Empty the sachet into the jug and add enough hot water to cover the sprinkler holes. If using a plastic shower head do not allow the water to be too hot as it can cause distirtion. Leave this for 10 minutes and pour the solution away, rinse the shower head well and reassemble the shower.
The solution is blue in colour so it is recommended that it is stored well out of the reach of children. Also if the solution is spilt onto a worksurface it is mopped straight up with warm water
There is a warning on the reverse of the box that this product may cause skin irritation so if you do have sensitive skin I would personally advise wearing rubber gloves.
I have found that this product has a very strong smell so i would suggest that you have a window or two open in the room where you are using it.
I have found this product to be very good and it does remove limescale but I find that it does not last for very long. I don't know iof this is because where I live the water is very hard or wether this is the general finding after using Oust.
I paid £1.79 from Wilkinsons for my box but now our little village shop sells it at the great price of £1.69 so I am saving on the price of the box and also on the petrol.
I would definalety recommend this product for all people living in hard water areas.

My area of London has appallingly hard water, so we are always de-gunking our kettle and coffee machine. I'll keep an eye out for this, but I've also found that for places where the smell doesn't matter, a vinegar-soaked rag tied over tap ends and the shower head seems to work well to.
